So what is Chris Eubank Jr going to be like?

Post by Mimmy »

I see in one of the dailies today that Jr is having his last amateur fight in Brighton tonight then going pro with Eddie Hearn.

Anyone know what this kid is going to be like. They say middlewieight to start with then move up to super middle.

It's a pro-am event - first pro boxing in Brighton for 10 years, crazy.

Thats' because it's full of hippies and nufters, not the stereotypical boxing crowd. Didn't the Green party get voted in in Brighton?

Very apt that you used the word stereotypical.

I boxed a fella called Harry Andrews, who was the ticket seller, in Brighton and that was as an intimidating atmosphere as you can get, I didn't see no hippies down there!
I think Frank Maloney was co commentating too

hopefully so, not enough genuinely nutty/interesting characters in the game, especially not operating at top level..

so theres actually 2 questions - will he be nutty and will he be any good :bag:

I read this bizarre article 1 year or so ago about how this surrogate mother in Vegas took two Eubank brothers on and they were dreadfully behaved...then there was also that odd filmed car park fight.

Supposedly he's decent; but being decent and being a world champ like his Dad is two different things

Is that the same Harry Andrews who's training Southern Area LWW champ Darren Hamilton?

I've seen him fight. He's overrated.

Had some training with Floyd Sr, but that means nothing as Floyd Sr is too, overrated.

He's got some big shoes to fill. His dad was a helluva a fighter but let's give the lad a chance. He's yet to have a professional fight yet. I think after maybe ten pro fights we'll have a better indication as to how far he will go in the pro ranks.
