What's Happening With Big Larry?
When are you coming back big fella? Anyone know?
Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
I think he is currently doing some security work for Haye. Seen him in a few of the pics of the Haye Klit press conference.

Sounds like Larry's doing OK.leforge wrote:Fury news could be primetime if your not going! I heard he was having a break doing some security for Hayekeithmoonhangover wrote:When are you coming back big fella? Anyone know?
As far as the Fury-Chisora is concerned, I'd love to go, but at the moment work is quiet and I've just sunk a chunk of money into my woman's new business. I might yet make it, but at the mo it looks like I'm watching it on TV. :(
Are you going leforge?

He's one of the nicest guys I've ever met in boxing! A genuine and sincere person! There are not many people about like him, he'll have success in whatever he does I'm sure! He'll also come back on here when he gets 5 mins to himself. I wish Larry all the success in the world.. ![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Larry is a massive man, but boxing is a tough game and frankly I would think there's no shame in calling an end to the boxing side of things.
If he has other pursuits I would suggest that he might concebntrate on them.

Seems like a really nice fella on here (him and Bomber have always come across as top lads - genuine guys) so hope he's doing well.
Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
Once your chin gets exposed like that you know every heavyweight boxer he'll face from now on would fancy their chances and i'm not sure Larry would have the skills to protect his unlike the likes of a Khan or Klitschko, would like to see him in the next edition of the Heavyweight Prizefighter though.BIGMARK wrote:i follow Big Larry on facebook and although he is not that active he still is doing stuff at various Muscle/fitness events. I also heard he was with team Haye but not sure how true that is. I hope Larry gives Boxing another goand isnt hanging the gloves up :(

If i was Big Larry, and i am not being cruel here, i would maybe have one more fight, a win, and sack it off. He has come from a very dark place to training with Freddie Roach and boxing live for a title on Sky, nothing to be ashamed of. He is educated as well and apparently a member of Hayemker, former top sprinter....Big Larry will be a succses whatever he chooses to do. He is one of the few who escape "The system" and should be proud of himself

Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
I think his only option after a defeat like that is the next heavyweight prizefighter.
If he goes back in with bums to build himself back up, it's not going to prove anything. He needs to go into the heavyweight prizefighter and win that and then he'll get a shot at a leading british heavyweight again for one last try at the bigtime. if he gets banged out at that stage it's time to hang them up.

Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
Bloody hell. its only one loss guys and I wasn't laid out, I got up twice so my chin isn't that bad and the knockdowns were more due to not being warm enough than anything else. I have alot more to achieve in boxing and I believe in myself so I will be back for sure. Just taken some time out to try a few new things away from boxing and also try new training techniques in boxing. Hopefully I will be back in the ring in september, I am not done with boxing yet by a long way and if people think its gonna be easy to take me out after the Mcdermott fight, then I invite them to please try and call Dean Powell so the matches can be made.
I was asked to do the movie Clash of the titans 2 but because it clashed with the Haye fight I couldn't do it so I have various other interests but boxing is still my first priority and I will be back with a vengence.
Also I have had the priviledge of meeting alot of good people in boxing and Tony Bellew is one of the nicest guys I have ever met and I really wanted the world title shot against cleverly for him. He will be a world champ and I am proud to say that he is my friend and a friend for life at that. Will call u soon mate and no I am not in love with u. LOL

Agreed. As long as you're doing what you love, that's what matters. All the best to you, Larry.warmachine wrote:Also wanna say what a pleasure its been to be on this forum. Thanks guys and its amazing how many people have come up to me in the street to ask when am coming back to the ring. Seems like alot of people wanna see me fight again. And Tom will be back, he is a good fighter
Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
Hey Larry sounds like you still have the passion to succeed in boxing so all power to you but don't think you should be blaming the knockdowns due to not being warmed up, obviously tightening up your defence is more important as you have the power and did hit Mcdermott with a good punch before the knockdowns. Maybe you can get yourself back to Wildcard gym for a few more sessions?warmachine wrote:Bloody hell. its only one loss guys and I wasn't laid out, I got up twice so my chin isn't that bad and the knockdowns were more due to not being warm enough than anything else. just a couple questions, where you headhunted to be in Clash of the titans 2 due to someone seeing you box or are you also an actor on the side? also would you consider taking part in the next PrizeFighter Heavyweight which will probably be end of this year once you've had a couple of comeback fights.
anyway keep going if your hearts still in it as you're an exciting fighter and always a pleasure to watch. As i said a while back, you were always going to pick up a few losses early on due to your lack of boxing experience but you can still make some noise on the British heavyweight scene in a year or so if you get your defence sorted out.

Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
The british heavyweight scene is exciting and competative people will loose, it means nothing. Especially at heavy when most of the time one punch can turn or end a fight.warmachine wrote:Thanks guys and its amazing how many people have come up to me in the street to ask when am coming back to the ring. I always enjoy watching you fight, too early for people to be talking about fighters hanging up gloves. Its just daft.

Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
I do a little acting on the side and am with various agencies but was headhunted because people have seen me boxing on tv. They wanted me as one of a few warriors so would have been a good part but had to turn it down as I already gave my word that I would be part of the security for David Haye. I just needed a beak for a while from boxing but can't wait to be back in the ring. And yes also my defence needs work no doubt but I have been hit harder than that many times and didn't flinch so not being warm had alot to do with it, but yes defence was piss poor as well

Yeah i can imagine you'd look great in action films and i'm sure you'll get more offered more parts in future, there's a few Film makers who use this forum too. Must be amazing to be part of Hayes team especially when you get to germany. Ok fair enough about knockdowns, maybe some heavy padwork in the dressing room before a fight may help you to get you loose and your body warmed up next time but yeah if you can find a defence that works for you then you'll always have a chance with any one with the power you got, as i mentioned you did hurt Mcdermott with a punch just before 1st knockdown.warmachine wrote:And with a promoter like allegedly, I don't think I need prizefighter
Ok fair enough about PrizeFighter, it'd be great to see you in it but guess it's also a bit of lottery who you draw in the quarter final and progressing further.
Re: What's Happening With Big Larry?
Good to see you pop up on here Larry and can only congratulate you on having such a great attitude. I'm sure going with David to the big fight will fire you up even further as it will be an amazing experience
