Woodhouse was rounded on a bit there, not so much from Arnie and Gavin - You expect a bit of banter between the fighters and even the trainers dropping in the odd one liner is all good for selling the show.

However, whoever was pot shotting silly questions out of camera view was out of order - I'm a bit surprised to hear it was journalists

Khan won the commonwealth title in fight number thirteen, his first title. Frankie won two titles in his first ten fights.... probably three by the time he reaches thirteen fights.

Gavin will soon be 26 - his handlers pulled him out of an English title shot, yet people on here describe him as the greatest talent to come out of Britain. Sorry, it doesn't add up. He's older than Kell Brook but wouldn't be let near him.

Naz and Khan were eligible for the English title though, and they didn't fight for it either. I don't think it's as important as you seem to. Time will tell, and Frankie's got plenty of time yet.

Has nobody got any class any more? I think the entire 1st ten minutes of that video were cringeworthy. Last month was bad enough with old bloated-face sat sniggering at George Groves, a young up and coming star less than half his age getting laughed at by an old fart that should know better. This was nearly as bad. I'm a huge fan of boxing but these "press-conferences" if I can call them that may as well be scrapped if this is what they're like.

No didrespect to Curtis Woodhouse - he's quite right in that upsets are historically sprung in boxing and always will be! He does have a chance but it is a very slim one. It's like a used Ford Fiesta going for a race against a top of the range Mercedes.

I think the only people who came out of this looking any good were the big Brum lad, Dean Powell, and the lad that sat on the end and didn't say jack- all when he got introduced by Powell.

As regards the cheeky c*nt that said to Woodhouse "...happy picking up the wages though were you?"....how unprofessional, Woodhouse handled that very well. What he shouldhave said was hang back at the end mate and ask me that one again in the car-park.......fair play to him.

I'll be honest I'm close with Frankie, love him like a little brother, I do respect Curtis so much though, let me tell you I wish I could of played football as well as him! It takes so much bottle to get in a ring and even more bottle to give up a fantastic paying job to going to a wage of a guy in a 9-5!! That's what the wages is like for 80% of professional fighters!
He left behind so much when he walked away from football, For that Curtis has my upmost respect, he's also begged for this fight! He's coming up gainer one of the best prospects in World boxing too!

...in a way many of Gavin's answers were not that disrespectful, he was basically saying that he is better pedigree and he was genuinely perplexed at the thought of Woodhouse doing anything with him. You could argue it was Woodhouse who kicked it off saying he was going to knock him out...I'd have to watch it again to be honest - which I have no intention of doing as it was embarrassing.

What I don't like about the whole thing though was there was a feeling in that room in several quarters of "Woodhous , you're sh*t, you're going to get stuffed, what are you even doing here..."....And if that's the case then the people involved really must be thick because you simply do not do your promotion any good whatsoever - or your appearance - if you tell people to go out and spend their hard-earned cash on an event, then proceed to spend 15 minutes running the bloke into the ground


I hope it's an exciting event, for me Gavin has too much skill, but Woodhouse has every right to be in the ring with him and he should believe in himself, work hard, and stick to a game plan and you just never know what could happen....and I think he does do and will do those things.

just to draw a line under it all from my point of view everybody connected to press confrence from frank warrens company treated me very well from start to finish as ive said earlier the only people who i personally think were out of order were 2 people in the crowd 1 of them asked me about my wages at brum and asked if i felt ok picking them up after id fallen out of love with footie which i feel i let myself down a bit with my reply but my blood was boiling so the response could of been a lot worse and the other was the bloke who was trying to say i faked injury to get out of the 1st fight with frankie which is miles from the truth but them 2 people were not there in a working capacity there were just a couple frankies mates trying to wind me up a bit the only reporter that tried it on a bit was the fella that asked me after i said i was going to knock frankie out if i could spell knock out i think he just thought he was being funny it didnt offend me at all like ive said before july 16th i will be ready

The English title wasn't about in Naz' time. If it was he would have leapfrogged it for European and world.

No disrepect to you Curtis, you've done very well for a late starter. However, I would like to see you build up more following your defeat to McDonagh. You actually said on here after the McDonagh fight that you know you will not discuss a Gavin fight, but one fight later it's happening.

Some of the questioning was rediculous. That journo who said something like "okay if we can be serious for a second" after Curtis said he was there to win and that he would win.... complete disrespect.

As I said in my original post, I would like to see Curtis have a few more fights and avenge the McDonagh set back before this fight, but its been built up nicely and lets hope for a good fight.
