Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
We've had a press coneference today, apparently I'm on drugs according to Mr McKenzie!
"it's not right that you bounced back up off the floor and your eyes were clear" , "you should be checked by the boxing board of control??"
This is what I've had to put up with today! He said he it wasn't right that my eyes were clear so I must be on drugs! I went on to tell him that I'm the cleanest athlete he'll ever fight and that it was a testament to my heart, conditioning and fighting spirit! He had no answer for that!!
I'll ram these disgusting accusations down his throat come July 16th! Does he not remember that were both tested before we fight the small minded clown! He's bringing our sport down with such stupid accusations :-( not right :-(

Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie

What a f**ing rat !!
It's a very odd thing to say, Ovil seems like a nice guy so I'm surprised he came out with it - maybe it's something someone else has suggested he should say to drum up interest / wind you up in the process?!
I doubt anyone will take it in the least bit seriously.
Best of luck.

Really looking forward to this rematch, turning into a proper grudge match as will the Cleverly fight which will inevitably follow. Wishing you the very best in your preparations for July 16th Bomber!
Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
He was serious guys, sad but I'm taking it as a compliment as it's a testament to my conditioning and fitness..
BUT I do think it's wrong to mention drugs in our great sport! I've said for a long time now we should have Olympic drug style testing in professional boxing for years and I'm petrified of needles if the truth be known![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
Was this played live anywhere? Would love to take a look?
Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
Agreed, it is very, very wrong to make unfounded accusations of drug abuse in boxing. There is a history of it in this sport and any one professional pointing a finger at another is likely to raise suspicions by the casual fan. I really hope you make him pay for this - such comments are not acceptable, and far, far worse and more serious than anything David Haye has had on a t-shirt.
Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
You should know by now that fighters deliberately wind each other up in press conferences!

Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
the testing criteria in boxing is ridiculous. is bomber is on drugs, he would not get caught under the current testing protocols.
Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
Still makes me laugh the fornicating rat comment at Cleverly!

He's bringing our sport down with such stupid accusations............... so what do you think you done at the cleverley press coneference
Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
I agree mate, I'm just petrified of em :-( I will be the first to say that we need Olympic style testing in all professional or high class fights in professional boxing! Should be a mandatory thing in title fights! Testing before and after the fight! The thought of someone cheating drives me nutsDioufy wrote:Pussy!Bomber 1 wrote: I'm petrified of needles if the truth be known

If you watch the Cleverly press coneference then you'll see I don't rise to being called a bum! I rise when I was threatned! I jumped up when he said the words "I'll take you outside now! And give you a slap" , I ask ? What would you do if these things were said to you? press coneference or no press coneference! Ain't no one taking me outside and giving me a slap IMHO...
Hope that explains that one mate

Yeah I drive myself into a rage thinking about it, I'v got this stuff I take to calm myself down tho I'll sort you out with some if you'd like. It aint technically legal but you know, the testings so shit nowdays the dim fuckers will never find out.Bomber 1 wrote:I agree mate, I'm just petrified of em :-( I will be the first to say that we need Olympic style testing in all professional or high class fights in professional boxing! In all seriousness I can't see how it's a serious accusation. Steroids are supposed to make you be able to train harder and for longer, not make you some superman who can take a hammer blow to the head and stay clear eyed.

Thats right Tony, say it as it is,
Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
I do agree you should take it as a compliment, Toney.
The fact he nailed you with his best shot and you got straight up, no doubt surprised him and the fact you boxed your way back into the fight probably disheartened Ovil.
Ovil, as nice guy as he is, is probably trying to psyche himself up into believing that something was 'wrong', hence why you got up.
I think after the fight he probably will admit is was a pretty silly thing to say.
Best of luck to the both of you

That press conference has done wonders for you Tony, very well played. There aren't many professions where TV footage of you being escorted out of a room shouting abuse and threatening to knock someone out would be considered a good career move!Bomber 1 wrote:If you watch the Cleverly press coneference then you'll see I don't rise to being called a bum! Re: Press Coneference: Bellew V McKenzie
There's nothing wrong with being scared of needles Bomber.... I have got a Aunt whose fear of needles is so bad she actually faints at the sight of seeing the needles being put into someone else ie my cousin.. But I do agree with you that in title fights at the very least we should have the Olympic style testing to show to the world that this sport we all love is clean and that has nothing to hide and I too find the thought of cheating like shameful and is just as bad if not worse than loading up the gloves. But away from that how is the training going then?Bomber 1 wrote:I agree mate, I'm just petrified of em :-( I will be the first to say that we need Olympic style testing in all professional or high class fights in professional boxing!
