So you think Witter is a far more dangerous fighter than Tszyu?search wrote:I believe Hatton realises that a fight with Witter is a very VERY hard fight for him. I believe he may not be as confident of beating Witter as he would be of beating other light welters. nearly as tedious as your "i love witter / hate hatton posts"
they are really tedious .
Witter maybe a slickster, but he isn't in the same league as PBF or Zab. As for Mitchell and Corley think Hatton would take both of them out and while a fight with Witter would be very competitive IMO Hatton would wear him down and win by late stoppage. I'm a fan of both fighters, but the jury is still out on Witter, where as Hatton took on the man perceived to be the best in the division and now derserves credit from everyone for winning.

I've backed Witter to get a shot at Hatton in the past, but his bleating lately, downgrading Hatton's win and saying he'd have blasted out Zoo, is completely the wrong way of going about things. He's making himself look like a complete dick.
He should shut the f*** up for a change, and concentrate on showing us he really is the 2nd coming of Ray Robinson this weekend instead.
I'd have a lot more time for him if he hadn't completely bottled the Pinto fight too.

respect to hatton he beat tzyu and sure he may have won "ugly" but he did what was neccesary to win and altho there was a lot of holding it wasnt all hatton. BUT c'mon u gotta feel for witter, it's all very well saying he should fight better comp but if better comp dont want to fight u then what can u do? Also the IBF dont even have him ranked even after beating n'dou(who is ranked 5 by them and might be getting an eliminator) so u goota say witter is defo getting the short end of the stick. He's got my support and i for one would like to see him in with hatton , it would be a good clash of styles tho i'd make hatton the favourite.

What a fornicating joke, Tszyu never hit Hatton properly, did you actually watch the fight then? Tszyu landed huge right hand shots on Hatton I've got the photographs to prove it on my PC at home.search wrote:FFSjamesmcdonnell wrote:You're fornicating delusional, are you telling me you think Witter hits harder than Tszyu?search wrote: Nothing will work because Hatton is scared to face Witter's style and power. As far as this Lirva speculation goes, I can assure you I am a new poster. I would ask the mods to check the IP adress of myself and this Lirva character as I am getting numerous PMs about this matter.
Hatton took about 20-30 full blooded right hands from Tszyu, and didn't even flinch, I don't see that Witter is some fearsome monster like you say. Sure he can punch, but he hasn't stopped anyone of note in his career.
Tszyu never hit Hatton properly if he did Hatton would have been seeing stars. This is a man who was dropped and hurt by Eammon Magee. That post is absolute garbage Hatton never took even 1 proper Tszyu right with all of his power.
lol... You think Witter can't hurt Hatton? Then why has Hatton never fought him???
There's no point arguing with you, you're incapable of even seeing what's in front of you. Witter beats N'dou, and looks shaky in the process, looking totally spent in the middle rounds, and Hatton takes full blooded shots of Tszyu, and yet Witter would destroy him.
I've got photographs from the fight sent to me by showtime, which clearly show Hatton taking MASSIVE shots from Tszyu, so don't bother trying to convince me otherwise when I saw the fight and have the photographs to confirm what I saw.

hatton got caught old agianst magee. simple as that.

Any chance of a post that doesn't denigrate Hatton and proclaim Witter as the second coming of Ray Robinson?
I genuinely can't see how anyone can not like Hatton - he is a decent bloke and a proper world champion. With Kostya as the last name on his fight CV surely Witter is a step backwards - it is up to Junior (and before I get accused of disliking Witter, I don't, I have been to several of his fights) to get his star back in to the ascendency.
If Golden Boy Promotions really want to back him, they can effectively buy him the WBA title (any Top 20 fighter who was focused would win that one) and then I can see a megafight between the two.

Well you ARE saying that Tszyu hit Hatton flush on numerous occasions with all of his power and Hatton took it.
So by default you are also saying Magee hits harder than Tszyu because Magee floored Hatton in round one and had him all over the shop in round 2 (I think he was warm at that stage).
You are the one who is biased.
where do i say that ? this is getting more refined by the second "with all his power now?"
he hit RH with right hands through the fight and hatton marched on. Watch the fight again and more landed than you are capable of counting up to .
at the opening of most rounds he connected with a right hand, look mate even jim watt commented on it.
jeez, you are a sad little man arent you? Cant see anyone elses point of view so you bend it to suit your own needs.
the fact you only post on witter threads says enough about you i think.
the expression "contempt you deserve" mean anything to you cos im am taking the piss out of you at present..and enjoying it i hasten to add

Hell, Im not even sure that you have posted on any other topic
as for intelligence dont even go there at least i can spell criticise you plank.
yeh nothing i know eff all.
im not saying im the most knowledgable on here, i wouldnt bloody dare but fact is Kostya hit Hatton with right hands, you are the one now specifying the parameters. I never said that zoo hit harder than magee, im just saiyng he hit hatton with right hands. its you that keeps telling me what im saying you dolt!
anyway youre a bit boring now, its too easy to take you peices.
Can't be arsed to look if I already stated this in this thread but: I used to think Witter would Demolish Hatton but after the Tszyu fight I'm pretty sure Hatton would lose a few earlier rounds and then wear him down late.
Right that's that out of the way.
But, we still need to see Hatton fight under a referee who's going to stick to the letter of the law to see exactly how good he is. No discredit to Ricky but these brit refs (apart from Ian John Lewis who was exemplary in the Phillips fight) do let him get away with an awful lot and even when they do tick him off for leading with the head or the occasional low shot they don't stop the action, that's not Ricky's fault but it's still true. And to be honest I thihnk Dave Parris is even more guilty of that type of crap officiating than Micky Vann is, when he reffed the Stewart fight at one point he let Ricky spin Stewart a full 360 and then clobber him hard, he did say something but he didn't stop the action. These American refs will call a break every time Ricky uses his strength to walk the other guy back or pulls down the head (which even the most diehard Hatton nut has to admit he does a lot). I hope he doesn't neglect his boxing skills in sparring because if he does get some big fights over there he's going to find it a lot more difficult to make them into rough ones.
Just to be clear, I'm not making excuses for Tszyu either, I thought he'd win, I even wanted him to because I don't like seeing the old lions ousted from the pride by the youngsters, dunno why, maybe I'm sentimental, but anyway I thought Hatton was fantastic and Tszyu is an old hand at the rough stuff himself and no saint so it was a fair fight, the ref needn't have been there really.
It's just a concern I have, if he does end up fighting Mayweather in New York he's likely to find he's not allowed to do some of the things that he's used to to get on the inside and have even more problems than he anticipates.
Right that's that out of the way.

On the other hand just because Zoo didnt KO Hatton doesn't mean Witter won't as his punches are from awkward angles and he moves far better than Zoo - movement is what sets up your big shots.
Boxing Blasphampy: I do believe Witter has more power than Zoo down to the amount of body torque (hence power) he invloves in the punch. Zoos powers overated after catching Judah not paying attention.

As far as Witter pulling out of the Pinto fight, why would he bottle it against Pinto when he took on a pound for pound superstar at 9 days notice?
If he had of fought you would have said, "He shouldn't have fought with an injury", just like you said Arthur shouldn't have fought Gomez if he had a cold. Yet, if Arthur had pulled out of the Gomez fight, would you be critisising him today like you are critisising Witter?
No.

If you're new around here then how did you know he picked Williams over Klitschko.

Are there any Junior Witter lovers out there who will just give Hatton the respect he deserves for beating the man who everybody regarded as the worlds no.1?
They are actually starting to sound even more bitter than Witter. He doesn't help himself by mouthing off, he's done it for years and it hasn't worked so why not try the respectful approach?

As they say its not how many times you get knocked down, its how many times you get back up. I can't think of to many world champions or ex-world champions that havent been knocked down at some stage in their career. The point is yes Ricky was floored by Magee (who i think is a very under rated fighter) but he got back up and won the fight. Thats all that matters.

I'm a big fan of Witter.... but I am dissapointed in the latest Hennessy Presser. Personally I think Witter could give Hatton nightmares, and see it as a genuine 50/50 fight..... however, I don't like Witters recent comments, and think it shows a real lack of class. Whilst he probably does genuinly believe he has the beating of Ricky, I am sure he can't believe all the other shite he's come out with, and is only saying it to generate publicity..... not that that is an excuse.Ding_Ding wrote:Are there any Junior Witter lovers out there who will just give Hatton the respect he deserves for beating the man who everybody regarded as the worlds no.1?
