Jamie Moore - Top bloke

Post by Josh1111 »

I messaged Mooresy on this forum to see if he would take me and a mate of mine round the gyms of Manchester.
We went to Olivers, Collyhurst and onto Hatton's. We stopped off and had a chat with Kerry Kayes. We finished off by heading over to his house to look and have a hold of his belts, the commonwealth, British and his European.
What a top day, spoke to several pro's, Scott Quiq, Robin Reid, Michael Jennings, Martin Murray, Derry Matthews, Rocky Fielding, Matthew and Ricky Hatton.
You wont meet a nicer bloke than Mooresy and it was great for 2 boxing fans like me and my mate to see what the pro's do to prepare for fights.

And how cheeky were you asking him to take you and your mate around the gyms!?

Hope you paid for the petrol :TU:

If you dont ask, you dont get mate :TU:

And we followed him from gym to gym in my car :OhYes:

Plus, the respect he commands in each gym is amazing, nobody seems to dislike the guy and loads of current pro's we met were asking his advice/opinions

Props to you mate...

Spent a little time with him at Oliver's a few years back; Khan, Matvienko and Thompson were there too. Was unreal watching the sparring.

Moore is a class guy in and out of the ring; commands respect and I hope he has a successful media career

had the privileged of going to his fights against Jones III, Macklin and rhodes. Probably the most exciting fighter i have seen live in recent times. Shame he never got his world title shot. but did win the british title :TU:

He fought and defended his British 7 times i think he said, awesome record. And what a belt it is, to hold it was class, a real privelage

Spot on. 'The fighters fighter' just seemed so apt for him. Even the way he spoke about his decision to retire, the man just oozes class.

Honest fighter is Jamie, fought with his heart.

When other prima donnas are winging about all sorts when they've had an easy ride, Moore just got on with it when he was given no brakes and just kept at domestic level for way to long.

What an amazing day it was. I am the mate by the way. Getting behind the scenes and getting to meet people you watch regularly on TV it was awesome. I could not believe how down to earth Jamie was, he is an absolute credit to the sport and we could see how popular he was when we were going round as well.
Also want to say how nice the Hatton's were, Ray Hatton gave us a personal tour of the new gym and it was impressive.
