Who are these haters we keep hearing so much about? Amir Khan is the latest sportsman to encounter them, according to a post on his Twitter account in the early hours of Saturday morning.
'F#*k all the haters,' he wrote. 'Up2 now iv blocked over 1000 people. I wish 1 day I meet a person iv blocked bcuz I wud spark him out + they would no y.'
To translate, it would seem Amir is becoming upset with those who are posting negative views of him on a social networking site ('F#*k all the haters'). He has taken steps to avoid further discourse with a significant number of correspondents ('Up2 now iv blocked over 1000 people'), but finds himself conflicted and wishes to extend this act of determination by facilitating a rendezvous ('I wish 1 day I meet a person iv blocked').
On the occasion of the aforementioned encounter, Amir pledges to perform acts of physical violence, severe enough to render his adversary unconscious ('bcuz I wud spark him out'). The motivation for this he believes to be self-explanatory ('+ they would no y').
Say it to my face: Amir Khan might find his detractors fall silent without the aid of Twitter
This brought an instant, brief and somewhat robust response from one contributor, which read: 'Whata P*ki c***.' Amir chose to deal with this possibly unhelpful feedback in kind, replying: 'F*k u too, did I call you a Sikh b******? No u nob.'
Further exchanges on the subject of haters then ensued. As can be seen, Twitter continues to provide an enriching forum for like-minded individuals to come together and exchange information ranging from favourite racial slurs to imaginative curses, not forgetting the occasional arrangement for a savage beating. What a shame such a progressive medium should be ruined by haters.
Many colleagues in the media have experienced the hating phenomenon, too. Indeed, it would seem one is far likelier to encounter haters on Twitter than, say, walking down the street minding your own business like we did in the good old days.
Amir, and many sportsmen, may wish to consider how many haters he met in daily life before entering the wonderful world of social media. Rough data suggests the numbers willing to march up and call a world champion professional boxer a 'P*ki c***' to his face differ greatly from those willing to do so from an anonymous, untraceable, remote location at three in the morning.
Indeed, without Twitter, Amir may find his hater quotient reduces by a ballpark 100 per cent.
I thought this was quite a funny write up on both Khan and the Twitter culture.
The guy definitely needs some sort of brain steroid. Thick safeboy. Honestly, to be in the public eye and constantly making an arse of himself on twatter, you'd think whoever does what passes for thinking for him would advise him to pack it in.
EDIT: I also have to say that use of the term "hater" should be a criminal offence.

Amir is mental writing such stupid things. He comes across so well on TV; he needs a PR person to keep his Internet persona on a par with that.
I think Amir needs a whole new management team behind him his PR since leaving Frank has been very poor.
He didn't really use twitter when he was with Frank so its not a PR thing...But someone in his management team needs to recognise that his comments are not really what sponsors such as Reebok want to be reading!

But the whole Management comments that helped cause fall out with Sky if Frank was managing this would it have happened?

I must admit it is pretty bad the amount of racial stuff flying round on Twitter. Surely they can have some sort of filters on it so that someone can't just tweet 'p*ki c*nt' and other such abuse. Not really on and I guess to someone like Khan it is more food to his argument that many of the people who don't like him are just simply being racist, which I tend to agree with.
Amir Khan should be commended for his loyalty for sticking by his team through the tv debacle.
At least him and his team had the guts to switch channels and make a success of things when other people were putting them down whilst polishing there paymasters.
Isnt his team all close Friends and Family though?

in this day in age though Jeff if you were famous like him you tell your manager what to do and hes worried hell upset you and lose out on his cheque

The article itself read like a filler. A little 'modern life is rubbish rant' that will probably get hits on the back of Amir's profile. A profile which he helps maintain by tweeting.
For the sake of even handedness and fairness I propose that we impose a ban on mentions of the RTs, well wishes and positive things he uses his Twitter account for.
Do you not realise that every celebrity gets these kind of tweets, and very few of them respond like Khan? The clever ones just ignore the negative tweets.
Khan probably should just ignore the abuse he gets. But it must be infuriating, and even a little threatening at times. And then the 'fight or flight' mechanism kicks in - and for proud, ultra-competitive guys like Khan, it's probably going to be the former of the two.
