I like Maloney's shows, agree recently though the stable is looking a bit thin he needs to get out there and sign up some new talent. Matchroom and Hatton both seem to be nicking all the good up and coming/available fighters at the mo.

Hattons I don't think will amount to much. Matchroom will get stronger again.

No he is not. Had options after the Daws fight. When Fury loses who has Hennessy got!

I like the way Frank has the guts to come on this forum and defend his decisions. I have new found respect for the the man.

I think it all boils down to the matchmaking. If he puts good match ups, then SKY will buy them.

Please do not worry we will be there or around about there, Over the summer months we will sit and look at our stable and pick out the ones who we think are good enough to take forward. Because of the dates that our avilb. to us promoters you can't afford to carry to many fighter these days. I do not intent to move over for anyone or make room for any new boys on the block. I believe our record of putting on shows are as good as anyone else's. And we at FTM just like FW build fighters from the bottom to the top unlike a few out there today.I would be very interested in out of or 10 shows this year which i think the last one on 11 june is a very good one you lot on here think was bad.And i am not going to come back on here and compare then with any other promoters shows as we are all in the same boat right now fighting to keep boxing alive and on TV.

The Chris Edwards v Paul Edwards fight should answer that question. Maloney makes good matches. Balls to the name fighters like DeGale boring us to tears, Maloney will make matches that are worth watching.

Of course, Hennessy should be there too because also makes good value matches.

Sky have lost there way terribly this year and need the likes of Maloney and Hennessy.

Correct, it's about building future stars not recycling old fighters or nicking other peoples.

Camcas wrote:Sky have four main promoters (matchroom, Warren, Hattons and Maloney) looking through Maloney's stable there isnt many fighters who warrant a headline fight on sky if im honest. Stuart Hall, Jamie McDonell, Gary Sykes and David Price are the only possibilities really. Say Price looses to McDermott and one of McDonell or Hall is going to loose their fight. That gives Maloney a very samll number of attractable fights on offer. Im not saying he should be taken off sky completely, but maybe cut the amount of shows he getes given. If it was me i would much rather see Hennessey's fighters in action. Fury, Daws, McIntosh, O'Donnell, Witter, Theopane. So if it was me i would give Hennessey some of Maloney's slots as their is a lot more public interest in Fury than Stuart Hall and when Chisora vs Fury isn't on sky and McDonnell vs Otieno is then that shouldn't be the case.
Fury ye but the rest I'd not be bothered about watchin but what would be good is price V Fury

Also should be pointed out that Moloney had a star in the making in the late Darren Sutherland, whom chose him over all the other promoters he could have gone with. Family & friends aside, it was a big loss for Maloney Promotions the business.

I think with Froch Matchroom was the best move for him. Hennessey just wasn't getting him the exposure he needed and Matchroom seem to be making giant strides in getting his face out there and increasing his name recognition with all the PAs. Without giving names, I wonder if some of the others have had their head turned by the "flashness" of Matchroom, and Eddie Hearn.

I also wonder if Eddie Hearn the fan may jeopardise Matchroom bottom line and the potential of their fighters. It's great to get a fight against the divisions best (Martinez) but there's also a case to be made that in securing the big fight he's feeding one of his best prospects to the lions.

Ultimately, the Moloneys, Warrens etc. whom are developing the talent need to take note of what Matchroom are offering and ensure they can compete. Eddie Hearn seems to be the only up and coming "man of the times" on the British boxing scene, although the Hattons and Hayemaker are also progressing. These guys all seem to have a better understanding of PR and promotion in todays world.

Warren has been accused of being too risk adverse in the past and has seen many of his stars leave to set up on their own (Calzaghe, Hatton, Khan) for either financial reasons or for not getting the challenges they want. Promoters need to be more aware these days that once the hard work is done, their best talents are not likely to hang around being their cash cow when lesser commissions and bigger pay packets can be achieved by partnering up elsewhere for joint promotions.

Well we will be starting our new season with
3 Sept European, British and Commonwealth Bantam Title all on the line plus Tony Jeffries and Gary Sykes on the bill and a star for the further Joe Hughes. Follow in Oct. with British and Commonwealth S.Bantam Titles plus David Price and Karl Place. We are up for a fight with any of the others in the coming year, I believe what we did at Liverpool has showing the other promoters that your fighters have got to fight the fans do not want to be able to pick the winner before the start of the contest. Them days are over i believe please tell me if i am wrong.

FTMpress price will probably be ready to fight fury soon, would you rather have price fight fury on channel 5 (presuming he gets past chisora and still fighting on channel 5) for the exposure or on one of your shows?

Of course Frank deserves a Sky spot. Some of the best British fights over the past 12 months have come off Maloney's shows.
