There are people who are clearly more natural at it than others, but people should stop being so harsh definitely. Jamie Moore comes across very natural, speaks clearly and always has something interesting to say and seems relaxed under the gaze of the cameras.

McGuigan I like also and thought his feature this week on the boxing hall of fame was top class.

thank god for ringside. sky have to be applauded for showing all ends of the sport, and nelson should be given a break. i remember lineker was awful when he started on motd, he's pretty slick at it now.

Yeh I've eased off on overly criticising presenters. End of the day they are guys who love boxing trying to do a job, people are hyper-critical of every little thing these days.

I actually like Adam Smith, i think he's a decent presenter and I also used to think his commenary was decent enough. SO he's got a bit of a posh background blah blah and never boxed, I don't really care for that, cos he is miles better than Johnny Nelson and holds RIngside together quite well I find.

x 2 apart from the bit about nelson i thinks he's good too. I like the whole sky boxing team at the moment, lots of conflicting views and varying background knowledge.

Glen is one of the ones I really don't mind listening to, he has a laid back voice and doesn't force his views too much, he also seems a likeable chap.

Barry is good because he speaks his mind, gives a fairly honest opinion on things, would say he's probably the best of the bunch.

Johnny, hmm I used to find him ok but lately not so much, I don't know he has this grin and tries to talk louder than everyone, also sucks up too much to certain fighters.

Jim Watt commentating makes me laugh, mr negative repeating the same things every few minutes, but I quite like the guy.

the fact that Smith has never boxed should not even come into it. He clearly loves boxing, and comes across as much of a fan as any of us watching. fair play to him

It makes me laugh, whem we did not have Ringside for a few years, people were moaning that we dont have anyything to watch now that Buncy's hour/sentanta has gone,
now we have Ringside back, people still moan, we should be grateful for Sky that they have decided to bring this great programme back, we get info, background stuff, interviews, etc, stop winging and be glad that we have got it......

It's like with your football team. You bitch and moan but you still support and watch them, you have no choice. But unless you support Barca your team will never, ever be good enough. Sky are more like Bolton, but you'll still pay good money to support the team, which gives you the right to moan - and I do. But at the end of the day I support them, I have no choice. Ringside is a credit to Sky and boxing. For the casual boxing fan like myself it has excellent features and gives great insight.

I love the enthusiasm of Adam Smith but do find myself reminded of Alan Patridge at his peak (I am in the back of a black cab ...)

For me, this actually adds to the entertainment and does not detract. Most sports are way too obsessed with converting retired stars into presenters, it is better for me if a journo acts as the anchor - as long as they can control the others ...

All sports pundits are guilty of dumping opinions on each other and though I have huge admiration for Barry M there is nobody worse on fight night.

Anyway, as I say, credit to Sky and the team for backing the sport and making it more accessible to the casual fan like myself.

I agree strongly here - I like Glen a lot. I think McGuigan is annoying and none too bright and Nelson is terrible - always hyperactively interrupting whenever anyone else is talking

Thought this weeks Ringside was boss, one of the best yet, watched it again this morning, really like Jamie moore, comes across as a real nice guy, knowledgeable of the sport, nice also to have a few different type of guests in Mick Williamson and Richie Davies, lets you see more of the bigger picture of boxing (our great sport). Yes, you are. He's a rotten presenter that makes me cringe everytime i watch him.

Perhaps i'm being a bit to harsh, but he reminds me of a malfunctioning robot the way he fumbles out his lines. On Ringside, the disrespect he showed to George Groves was unforgivable "James, do you think the fight is to soon for him" and followed up with "one's matured quicker than the other as a proffessional".

I dont mind Glen McCrory, him Ian Darke and Paul Dempsey made a great team in my opinion.

I found Woodhall's style very wooden when he started on the BBC with the awful Jim Neilly, but he has developed it really well, and his knowledge, comments and insightfulness are excellent

I'd like a bit of variety to be fair, different guests, different commentators and even a different presenter, mix and match, no need for the same stuff every week like bloody match of the day.

I don't think there needs to be any major changes to the ringside programme. We had had to put up with some dodgy presenters over the years, not just on sky but itv who made a mess of a boxing show on a regular basis. All the people currently involved have a strong love for the sport and know their stuff. I like the Smith/Nelson combo, they gel very well together and of course Adam Smith is bound to have more professionalism and finesse to his presentation, are we forgetting Nelson's background? I think him and Jamie Moore offer great perspective in the sport, come across very well.

McGuigan is my favourite, his piece on the IBHOF was excellent. He has great insight and the respect he shows and commands from fellow fighters is nice to see.

Matthew hatton was superb during the alvarez-rhodes telecast and his chemistry with jamie moore was nice to watch with the humour coming out.

Nelson is a much better pundit than presenter and i actually like the man and respect him deeply as a fighter. I think he isnt any good as a anchor but as a pundit he has better chemistry with some.

My point is if sky use loads of different pundits which is great lets use those who mesh well together.

Id love to hear eubanks on but the fact of the matter is anytime he and benn have been on they are such loose cannons who need to be the centre of attention anything can happen such as benn drunkenly saying " i liked boxing better when it was on itv" in the middle of a bbc telecast and eubanks "oral sex " comment about desiree washington

Going back to the orginal post, it takes a good editor/producer to put together a feature like the one Barry fronted at the hall of fame. The producer should take credit, and the camera man, and all involved. Like lots of things on tv, I imagine it's a team effort. Well done sky. And great to see them using Jamie Moore. Caught him commentating with John Rawling on the last Amir fight, and he seemed pretty good at that as well.

Eubank uses 500 words where ten might do, that is his problem. With you on Hatton-Moore-Nelson. It was an ideal punditry team for the fight.
