Bogovic fighting Fijian for WBF Asia-Pacific Title on Sat.

Post by ausboxing »

Aussie Cruiserweight-Jamie Bogovic (4-1-0) will fight Fijian, Temo Kolitapa (2-4-2) for the vacant WBF Asia-Pacific Cruiserweight Title. Bogovic defeated Monty Filimaea in his last bout via TKO and will be hoping to put in a dominant performance against 35 year old Temo. The number 1 rated Cruiserweight in Fiji had a majority decision draw in his last bout in Vanuatu and will prove to be a very powerful opponent for Jamie.

haha you must be in someway involved in the management side of Jamie Bogovic. - sounds a terrible match-up.

Bogavic is a top prospect, this fight is a no brainer IMO. Not much reason for a poll.

Good amateur, but yet to show an account of himself as a pro, only reasonable opponent, Irish amateur (population 6 000 000 approx.) champion on his pro debut, Decaland Trainor did a number on him, alll of his other opponents have been hard to judge him by, his last three outings, particularly the fight with Nick Taumafai http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer (please look at Nick's record, particularly his last few fights before replying), have been less than impressive. I certainly hope he is a good prospect, and I certainly hope he goes far, we need more fighters in the pool here for boxing to have a resurgence, and I feel Jamie would do better than teaming up with Fenech ( Justin Rowsell, Shannon Taylor, Glenn Kelly anyone!?), but not only is this poll unnecessary, but the poll should be "How Irrelevant Can A Regional Title Get".

If i remember the Bogavic -Trainor fight, Trainor had bogavic down early from a knockdown. Bogavic was cut but was right in the fight when it was stopped due to the cut. He was far from disgraced and trainor is a well credentialed Amatuer from Ireland.

Corrrect, Ben K, Bogovic was far fro disgraced. But that was a good knockdown, Bogovic jumped straight up from it, and was keen to keep on going, considering the damage that punch did to his nose, showed considerable heart. Would love to see a rematch, then a fight with Mostyn Niemann- The Battle Of The Bosses!

I thought the irish guy owned him, not just the punch that split him but the whole round he had the better of it IMO.

Certainly dont think it was anything to be disgraced about or anything like that but i do think it was a dominant win. I guess it would be hard trying to focus with all that blood though. I would like to see the rematch.

If Bogovic and Trainor fight again Bogovic will KO him, with out that cut Bogovic was winning EASY.

^^HaHa. funiest thing I have read today. he had lannded about 4 punches in the round and eaten about 15, how do think he was winning?

I do remember his supporters were just as confident before the first fight though, which costs a few of them some dollars

Jamie won easily as he should have. His warm up was harder and i must say jeff got him lookin very sharp. Bit early for big wraps on him but i know he will fight anyone. He want nieman so i hope that happens. I think pit and vea too much just yet but this boy could do anything. He very relaxed and willing just think he may wear too many shots just yet to challenge the big boys. But u can put me down as a fan

Bad news for Paul, I hope he's alright, please pass on my sympathies. How does that garner him for his fight with Joe D'Angelo ? And of course I'm fishing for myself, as I'm back to (limited) sparring and am looking to have a warm up fight in about eight weeks.

Dale, The fight with joe is off as he got stopped so 28day enforced lay off. Not sure where we at at the moment. Good to hear your back trainin. When u say u lookin for a warm up fight in eight weeks were u talkin about paul or someone else before paul. I was hopin to c u last night for a beer and a yarn. It was a good night aside from the obvious

I was coming, didn't get home from work until sevenish. Would actually love to catch up with you for a beer and a yarn, I love your passion for the sport. I do have more respect for Paul than use him as a warm up fight, I meant a warm up fight before Paul. it's a shame he isn't fighting Joe, would have been a good fight. Will you be at the Maniatis show? If so I'll make sure I'll be there and we'll bend the elbow and wag the chin then, if not at the amateur's.

Fight is back on just been sorted this minute. Paul knows what he did wrong and it was just a shot that got him cold, probably the first one he wore all night. Paul was going great until the punch got him. Him and joe be a good fight make sure u come down we have a beer
