Ive tried many books etc and theyr usually a bit shite to be honest.
Usually too basic.
Ive started doing a circuit which i think is good.
12 different exercises.
Do it in order, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3.... Until youve done the 1st exercise 12 times and the 12th once. That make sense?
Choose your own exercises, sit ups, press ups, burpees etc.
Its an absolut killer but works a treat.

Billy, I can't view Ringside over here, but are you talking about boxing specific techniques or general fitness/conditioning ones?

Does anyone know what the "bar bag" is that they were doing? I seem to remember Hatton doing something like that with Billy Graham - I think it was 3 min rounds of sparring or bag work, then a minute of jumping over the bar in between each round? The jumping part would really take it out of you.

Bar bag is one min on the bar, then on the bag, then back to the bar and rest!

The idea is to stop coasting - it's a tough workout!

You can do other protocols too

Worst non-boxing work-out I've encountered is Crossfit's 'Kalsu' - brutal.

No Jeff, unless you count training myself  Just have a fascination with it. Kalsu is basically:
At the beginning of every minute perform 5 burpees, for the rest of the minute perform as many 135lb thrusters as you can during that minute. At the beginning of the next minute perform 5 burpees and then max rep thrusters and so on until you reach 100 total thrusters.

It's one of those deceptive ones that sounds reasonably straight-forward but then just destroys people in practice. You can see it action here:

On a related note, if you want to see some absolute fitness animals you should be following this at the moment:

Some unbelievable performances on there.

Sound/ good mate will check it out, to the op mr bessey

The best personal training resources I've found online are t nation, Ross training and Brian mac for differing reasons.

Think the best way to find new stuff is be open minded and get round the gyms- some top mma drills that work with boxing very well. Battling is a good one to use- look it up

Been doing a lot of Spartan training exercises recently. 30 reps of 10 exercises against the clock. If you pick the exercises right you don't even need any equipment.
Also putting in a fair bit of medecine ball work.

In our gym we do a different bar bag one. Basically you get 2 boxers, to use one bag. one hits the bag for 40 seconds whilst the other uses the bar to jump over, when 40 seconds are complete they swap places and then again. They do this 3 times each. Then you do 30 seconds, then 20, and finally 10. Each round should be more than 3 minutes. You get 1 minute rest in between round.

Following this you get the same pair on a bag yet again and they do 3 rounds. One hits the bag flat out for 30 seconds whilst the other holds it and does standing squats, then trade places. this goes on for a round. then 20 seconds and then 10.

thats a nice easy to explain one

Both mate just anything to stop training getting boring med ball exercises/circuits/punnching drills/ling busters
Have a look at my earlier post. It all relates to www.crossfit.com - different work-outs every day so plenty of variety and there are 'spin-offs' such as crossfit endurance.
