You can guarantee that Europes top promoter of the last 30 years will not let Broner anywhere near Burns. Not while he can thefans what they want with megafights like Burns v Nicky Cook.

that did make me

it's a shame really that SFW is a division without too many stars, so it's easy for FW to keep Burns' belt with nothing opponents, which is good for Ricky - a good lad, top pro who deserves to put some dough in his pocket, but as a fan an on a sporting front he does need to face someone that means something soon - Fana, Broner, Mendez or one of the Japanese contenders - even a Martinez rematch would be exciting - last 3 fights have been laughable. Makes you wonder how much confidence all involved actually have.

No way never, Broner looks like a star in the making. Burns should stick to what he's doing, easy defences cos I can see him really unravelling if he gets in with someone like Broner.

I disagreed with the decision. Not in any way am I saying that De Leon is a pushover, and I thought it was a close fight but to me the wrong chap had his hand raised.
Anywho, the way he destroyed Litzua was impressive to say the least, it's obvious that this fella can hit very, very hard.
I'd like to see him in with Burns, but it'd be wise for Burns to avoid it for another fight at least to see if Broner is as impressive as this last win suggests, or if he was a little flattered by a defensive blunder from Litzua.
Broner's last fight was last night. He looked impressive, though it was a very short fight.

Was anyone else appalled at the lack of medical attention that Litzau received after the KO. No medics, no doctor nothing. Only his cornermen pit him on a stool. That was shocking. Thank god he seemed to be alright.

I personally think Broner has got unfinished business with Ponce De Leon - but I think I would tip both to beat any of the current world champions at the division.

I saw that too mate. Referees usally walk the boxer back to his corner but he basically just left him on the ropes. Jim watt said he looked angry/upset with himself, but I think he was still out the game.

As for Burns, he would take the fight but think we all know Warren won't let it.

You know what I meant. Last fight but one, the one against De Leon.
I wasn't sure if you didn't realise he fought last night. I didn't mean anything by it.

Worst one for that in recent memory was Hatton vs Pacquiao.

Hatton unconcious and barely breathing, medics did NOTHING. In this country he'd have had oxygen and much better attention.

Anybody see Litzau jump out of his stool AFTER the fight has been stopped, jumping up and down and shadowboxing? I think he was still out of it.

Broner should have lost to De Leon, he's not as good as they're making out. Great knockout this weekend but overrated at this point in his career. I expect them to take it slowly with him, a few more fights before a world shot.

Why would Ricky Burns fight him when he got the mega fight with Nicky Cook!

Broner made amends for the poor outing against PDL by scoring an impressive win over the weekend. Several people thought that Litzau could pull off an upset, and many people thought that he would at least be competitive, so it's safe to say that Broner exceeded almost everyone's expectations by stopping Litzau in one round. Considering that he has only fought eleven rounds against top 50 opponents, I would like to see Broner accumulate more experience before he steps into world title territory, but I would already give him a great shot of beating Burns.

I noticed as well, but I thought Litzau did those things in an attempt to show that he was ok; not because he was still out of it. People can do some odd things after getting sparked though, so I wouldn't be surprised if my interpretation is the less accurate one.

Nah, I thought the same as you. Litzau was caught cold.

Broner Burns would be a good match-up i don't think either would win clearly and it would be a close decision either way

I won't get carried away about Broner on the back of this victory with regards to superfights but must say at only 21 he is a very exciting talent for the future and looking at the 130 landscape it's clear that he could dominate the division for the next couple of years as it is not very deep at all.
