I had a double on both Alvarez and Strum winning UDs. I've now gone with both Brook and Strum winning UDs, I think Macklin is really up against it here

really hoping for a british win. sturm is a difficult opponent. maybe macklin's lack of height will help him, if he tries to pressure, up close. help him get between that tight guard of sturm's, when sturm punches (just about the only time you can land a clean shot).

is sturm making a mistake and seeing macklin as a soft touch after macklin's well below par (when ill) fight with varron?

sturm is of course the fave, but he can be outworked (randy griffin 1st fight) and KO'd (castillejo).

I honestly dont think Sturm is as good as we're all giving credit. I dont think he's a strong world champion. If Macklin cant beat him, he will have proven he is european level at best. If he wins, it might be the kick up the arse he needs.

Macklin has as much chance of beating Sturm in Germany as Rhodes did of beating Canelo. Not much.

McEwan would get knocked out, like he did against Lee.

p.s. there aint a single second of the montage that is repeated. I'm sorry I havent the resources or ability to produce something of a similar standard to SKY Sports.

Funny thing is, 50% of Boxing News readers said that Rhodes would win. Plenty on here went for Rhodes as well.

I never heard of them before but they seem to be throwing plenty of dosh at this.

They've booked the megatron in Times Square and will be showing the fight live on that and have Lennox Lewis as part of the broadcast team and have had Duddy there all week.

Such a big fight over in Germany but no one in the UK gives a toss about it, disappointing.

Macklin will lose. 100%

All the odds are against him. That said, I hope he wins. I like him.

Wimbledon tends to swamp stuff this time of year. No one would go for a Monday press conference anyway unless it was something like Haye-Klitschko. That's why press conferences are normally Wednesday/Thursday

I mean amongst fight fans, not just the media.

This is the media workout today, they are usually before the press conference, the press conference is tomorrow.

Sky is all about hyping the Haye v Klitschko fight at the moment, it's a shame for Macklin, but he is never going to get the coverage he deserves coming just one week before the biggest PPV of the year

Can't see Mackling winning this one. He'll give it a good go I am sure but think that he will lose a UD.

I think I need a signature on the bottom of all my posts saying "I'm not Danny Flexen" even though I've been on here for about 8 years.
