Rhodes is not shot, just not upto that level.

The jury, imo, is still out on Canelo. With respect, beating Hatton and Rhodes clearly (his 2 best opponents arguably) does not really put him in the bracket for greatness. Harder tests to come, for sure.

Hatton is always underatted (not by me), I said he would go the distance as he has solid technique, good defence and more speed than Rhodes and no lack of bottle.

Hatton is sticking at Welter, which is the right thing to do.

Rhodes, depends if he wants another crack at it, but at 35, he is gertting on a bit and I am not sure British / Euro level cuts it, for him.

1. I'm not sure if Rhodes was shot, but he was very overrated heading into the bout. I don't think any version of Rhodes would've done much better.

2. Yes and yes.

3. Too early say with confidence, but I would lean towards no.

4. Will Matthew fight at 154 again?

5. No. He was tight defensively, he put his shots together well, and he hit Matthew with his best punches.

Hatton lost every round versus Alvarez and basically just came to survive the 12 rds rather then ever trying to win so if that is somehow seen as doing better then Rhodes then it's a sad state of affairs.

Rhodes lost the fight early on when his gameplan of switch hitting from Orthodox to southpaw to confuse Alvarez just got him beaten up more and he didn't really have anything else to offer, also the body shots he was being hit with took their toll on him to the point he was scared to let his hands go.

Alvarez is slowly becoming a complete fighter but is a couple of years away yet so we have to be patient and allow him to develop a bit more rather then expect him to fight Pac and mayweather next.

I don't think that Hatton came only to survive; he fought back hard throughout and I even gave him the fifth round when I watched the bout for a second time. Rhodes and Hatton were outgunned by similiar margins, but Rhodes was expected to do so much better.
