Pulev vs Rogan

Post by alexpaterson »

Over on the current scene there saying Martin Rogan will fight Pulev in Germany for the Euro title Helenuis vacated. Tough fight for the taxi driver but you can never rule the big man out. Thoughts?

Dimitrenko is the EBU champion. Rogan will be fighting for the EBU-EU title.

Pulev is a future world champion imo .

Stopped Matt Skelton in only his 5th bout , can you imagine the likes of fury , price , dallas etc etc fighting someone of Skeltons calibre in only their 5th outing

I wouldnt get to carried away Skelton had seen better days by that point,he has some names on his record for this stage of his career but they are all past it..I remember watching him in the olympics&i thought he was very average(forgot who he boxed now)

I like Roggie but to be that fit and determined takes a fornicating LOT. I don't think he's got that same level of mental strenght anymore, and TBH, I don't blame him. If Rogan fights again and if he doesn't blow his opponent out, he'll get stopped.

How much does that man rue not KO'ing Sexton when he had that chance.

yes skelton was past it , but even that version of skelton is without doubt better than anyone dallas and price have beat and as for fury id only say mcdermot would have been a match for Skelton .
Means nothing as id also guess Rogan is now past it .

He honestly has no chance here . , amateurs/olypics doesnt count for much in the pros , as We can testify with Audley Harrison

He much better than most British prospects in his third fight he beat http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer who only two fights previous had beaten Lamont Brewster. He stop Rogan in 6.

He got experince fighters from word go. Price needs to get Mcdermott out of the way asap then he can move on. Looked very impresseive in his last two fights!

Price like Fury i dont think will be a world beater, but id back Fury&Price against Chisora&Pulev respectively...Thats what i love about boxing, each others opinions on how fighters will do :TU:

Pulev was a higher ranked amateur than Price and always did better in the major competitions too. Same with Helenius.

Pulev has some good scalps from the unpaid code, including none other than Solis and Timurziev. He always seemed to run Cammarelle pretty close too.

Will be interesting to see how they all pan out as pro's. Shame Cammarelle doesn't fancy it as he whupped them all at various points.
Then again, he always got beat by Povetkin so who knows?

I thought he would certainly give the Klits a run at one point but he seems to have slowed right down lately and gone off the boil.

Lost all momentum.

Rogan will get hurt against Pulev! I've seen him lots of times in tournaments and seen him as a pro! He's too much for Rogan :-( Povetkin would hammer Pulev though! Domination on the world stage will come down to Pricey and Povetkin! You all know who im batting for ;-)

How do you see CHisora v Fury fight? Povetkin seems to have gone backwards recently.

Bit of a playboy aint he Bomber?

It is certainly shaping up quite well in the heavies, prospect wise. Helenius, Pulev, Price, Glazkov etc. Solis can still come again if he fancies it although his commitment is to be doubted.

One fighter that impressed me in Beijing was Oscar Rivas. He beat Pulev then gave Cammarelle his toughest fight of the games by a distance. He was only about 20 at the time too. Just looked him up and his career seems to have been stop start since turning over. Put on a fair bit of weight too since joining the paid ranks which is disappointing.

The fight has been cancelled.

Rogan has withdrawn citing he was not given enough time to prepare,
