Murray and Mitchell in my opinion. Ones been found out and i think the other will follow suit.
Re: Most Overatted Current UK Fighters
Agree, this shouldn't be a top of the bill fight, especially in a big venue like the excel. I think ticket sales will reflect this and be poor.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Murray and Mitchell in my opinion. Ones been found out and i think the other will follow suit.

tyson fury. Really dont see what the fuss is about. On the other hand i think froch may be underrated
Re: Most Overatted Current UK Fighters
The world governing bodies overrate him that's for sure, he shouldn't have been within a mile of a world title fight. But to be fair he's not alone there.crusader wrote:Who rates Hatton? If anything I'd say that he is underrated.hurlock wrote:matthew hatton.

i wouldnt say macklin, he's european class & is getting a crack which aint beyond him, i see him getting beat possibly stopped very late after giving sturm a headache.

All good fighters but I'd be surprised if any of them do anything at world level, especially Fury and Lee
And who said Matthew Hatton was overrated? Nobody rates him anyway!

Kell Brook's got lots of questions to answer. He hardly fights, his best win was an unsatisfactory one over Michael Jennings who was totally owned by Cotto (no disgrace in that obviously), yet he's talked of as a can't-miss world champion and is boxing a guy shopworn Lovemore Ndou in what is being built up as some kind of coming-out party.

Sorry should have amended that as he is a world champ, I don't think he'll do much with the title, the others won't win a world title IMO, except possibly Brookslapbangwhallop wrote:You think Ricky Burns will do nothing at world level?Captain Hook wrote:Tyson Fury

Mate your a Dickhead,if you had any clue how hard it is to become a world champion,ie the sparring, training, running and dieting you wouldnt write this shite that burns is a poor chamopion.No1 DICKHEAD!wadey wrote:Ok, ok in my point of view:Deserter wrote:I'm surprised you're saying either of them in this context. The general consensus appears to be that both are Euro-level/fringe world-class and that appears about right, certainly not over-rating them.
It's a good question though and I think I'd probably have to say that Kell Brook potentially falls into this category at the moment based on achievements to date (rather than potential). Cleverley is another one where the jury is still out. And unfortunately I'd have to add Darren Barker's name as I think some on here over-rate him in the context of his ability to hang at world-class level.
Matthew Macklin - The fact that his fighting for a world title and has a boxrec ranking of 12, when in my opinion its very questionable that he is the best domestically. This is what draws me to this judgement. Plus he was very poor and looked very ordinary in his last 2 outings.
Ricky Burns - Has to be the poorest World Champion out there, and with Frank Wa**en seemingly puposely cashing in on these big shows in Scotland by putting him in against weak opposition, then can't see things changing until a unification fight happens.
Have to disagree with your judgements on Kell Brook and Cleverly as at least these 2 have shown potential at being able to cut it at World level. Obviouasly time will tell and the jury may still be out, but with regards to the 2 i mentioned. Have they ever shown us any thing?
Re: Most Overatted Current UK Fighters
Not questioning that it is tremendously hard work, but when is he going to defend his title against a legit challenger?billy nelson wrote:Mate your a Dickhead,if you had any clue how hard it is to become a world champion,ie the sparring, training, running and dieting you wouldnt write this shite that burns is a poor chamopion.No1 DICKHEAD!wadey wrote:Ok, ok in my point of view:Deserter wrote: I'm surprised you're saying either of them in this context. Is it fair for the man to earn a bit of cash before risking his decent paydays?
Re: Most Overatted Current UK Fighters
Maybe one soft defense after winning the title against a good champion, but now he should be fighting someone ranked in at least top 20carlbcfc wrote:Camcas wrote:Not questioning that it is tremendously hard work, but when is he going to defend his title against a legit challenger?billy nelson wrote:Mate your a Dickhead,if you had any clue how hard it is to become a world champion,ie the sparring, training, running and dieting you wouldnt write this shite that burns is a poor chamopion.No1 DICKHEAD!
