onthe premise announcers shut their cakehole during ringwalk
onthe premise announcers shut their cakehole during ringwalk
on the premise the sky commentors stay quiet during a big fight ring entrance the way the german tv guys do..........which song do u think would really lift the crowd excitement and drive them into a frenzy the way eubanks "simply the best" did or nigel benns "dangerous" by conroy smith did and the way david hayes "aint no stoppin us now " does.
Hayes choice is interesting as its a retro theme and those usually work best for ring walks.
So on that basis which song for which fighter?

We won't hear it because Jim Watt will be speaking his usual shite imposing his prediction upon us. I'm going to watch it in german.

Dambusters would be good.boxingchat wrote:Land of Hope and Glory or the Dambusters.
Carmina Burana is another good one.
Or 'Thus spake Zarathustra'
Re: onthe premise announcers shut their cakehole during ringwalk
lol Dambusters might be good for you, but i'll be there!!!
Not sure i want 10 thousand angry Germans on me case all night haha
As far as songs go, i loved the one that Katsidis had when i watched him beat Kevin Mitchell at Upton Park, can't for the life of me remember now but it certainly got us all going as we were all there for Kevin that night. came into the ring wearing his roman/ greek helmet, EVERYONE was against him but he loved it, his song was great.
It will be the same sort of thing for Haye, being in Wlads back yard...and it certainly worked for katsidis that night

In a psychadelic moment, I thought it would be a good idea for Joe Calzaghe to fight Sugar Boy Malinga with this entrance: The theme tune from Zulu would be playing and the camera would focus on a wall of sandbags that Calzaghe, dressed as a South Wales Borderer, complete with white pith helmet, would kick down and emerge through before walking to the ring. I genuinely thought that would be a good idea at the time, bless.

Hahaha that is genuinely creative glynn. Im impressed .You think like don king!
I wish some of our promoters had that spark to do something origional
Ambrose mendy was genuinely creative but he was a lunatic as well!

I think the moments before a fight would benefit from the fighters walking down individully instead of as part of a crowded out entourage.
Naz was the mastet of entrances.
Also think it would add extra excitement if they prevented the ring from getting so overcrowded before and after a fight when waitin on a decision.
All they people dont need to be in there! Lol.

I thought the entrances were done well for Dawson-Pascal, although Dawson was held back a bit too long.

How about Jim Watt singing along as a compromise?

After Wlad's claims that Haye ducked him and Vitali then Wlad coming in to that song of The Fugee's song with the lyrics "Ready or not, here I come, you can't hide" would be electric.

Wlad won't shock us, he'll go for AC/DC 'For Those About to Rock' (which will never be as impressive as when Rich Franklin used it for his entrance to an arse-kicking by Anderson Silva), just like Vitali always goes with AC/DC's 'Hells Bells'.

What about 'flight of the Valkyries.' That's a pretty ominous bit of music.Crazyboy wrote:lol Dambusters might be good for you, but i'll be there!!!

Or
The hall of the mountain king.
There's loads of great classical pieces.
Re: onthe premise announcers shut their cakehole during ringwalk
I think boxing could learn a lot from wrestiling when it comes to entrances to make it more spectacular
Re: onthe premise announcers shut their cakehole during ringwalk
Some of Naz's would've beating a lot of the wrestling ones lol.I think boxing could learn a lot from wrestiling when it comes to entrances to make it more spectacular
On a serious note, i just can't see boxing matches with loads of birds with hearts drawn on their cheeks, with 'i love Martin Rogan' (For example) written on and loads of daft banners saying 'Rogan you rock' and stuff like that lol.....we don't need that. shite.
