Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
Re: Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
I'm not sure, but defeating Bomber won't make Mckenzie a deserving world title challenger.

Re: Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
well he should do and i think he'll beat clev
Re: Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
I do not think Ovill is world class which will put him towards the front of the queue for a Clev defence.
Anyone who thinks the Welshman is going to be fighting Pascal or Hopkins is seriously deluded.
If the Jamacian wins he will be cheap enough and enough of a domestic face for FW draw up a contract.

I think Clevs next fight will be the winner of this fight.Coco wrote:I do not think Ovill is world class which will put him towards the front of the queue for a Clev defence.

probably not. i dont htink it would draw much money risk X reward isnt good enough
Re: Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
Would be a crime if either fight for a world title. neither deserve it.allahsnackbar wrote:I think Clevs next fight will be the winner of this fight.Coco wrote:I do not think Ovill is world class which will put him towards the front of the queue for a Clev defence.

In my opinion I very much doubt it, because the WBO might make Nathan Cleverly undertake a mandatory defence and if he gets by that he will probably go for a unifaction match most likely the winner of the Tavoris Cloud-Yusuf Mack IBF title bout.

He ain't winning so don't worry about that ma man!! ![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

FW will continue his safety first matchmaking like he does for all of his fighters, his fighters tend to be the best paid and have the most longitude for this reason. Purely from a sporting point of view you can take that as a criticism but a compliment from the business angle.Captain Hook wrote:You don't rate Cleverly then Coco? Or just his promoter...
I'm not saying I don't rate Clev, but he hasn't proved himself much beyond domestic level yet, but time will tell and he will have the opportunity.
Moreover he has benefited hugely from his loyalty to FW esp in regards to Enzo Cal

I agree 100% with that and have been saying it for a while. Life could have been very different for Nathan if he had stuck with Enzo.Coco wrote:FW will continue his safety first matchmaking like he does for all of his fighters, his fighters tend to be the best paid and have the most longitude for this reason. Re: Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
To be fair to Cleverly he had three opponents in two days, dealt with it calmly and did a number on a solid opponent.
It was an equally chaotic period for Bomber. The weight issue, that press conference, pressure from Sky over the whole thing...etc.
I'm going to interview Tony Bellew over the coming days (just need to get my work/job done at the newspaper first!) so if anyone has any questions for him please leave them on this thread and I'll pick them up over the weekend.
Bellew vs Clev will be a firestorm of a fight in the next 6-12 months.
Cleverly is world class and has a lot of potential IMO. Bellew can reach that level too if he tightens things up. Same goes for Clev with his tendency to lower his guard and start wanging away when he gets bored.
Both British, both quality, both like to fight and both nice guys out of the ring.
Any criticism their way is unwarranted IMO. Good luck to them both.
I think Bomber beats Ovill with something to spare this time around, he'll have learnt from last time.

Well he aint bad mate as he's fighting for the British and Commonwealth titles. I do think that at Light Heavy he can give anyone in the world a run for there money. Like he did against Bellew last time out. As he said in his interview the reason he has lost so many is because of taking fights at short notice.I do think this is going to be a cracking fight again with Tony winning but you never know what happends if he gets one on the chin from Ovil.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:You must really rate McKenzie...Darcy Delaney wrote:well he should do and i think he'll beat clev
GOOD LUCK TO BOTH FIGHTERS

Not that Cleverly is a deserving world champ either.crusader wrote:I'm not sure, but defeating Bomber won't make Mckenzie a deserving world title challenger.
Not Cleverly's fault, but for me, he isn't a genuine world champion.

Got to agree with you Lee, think if Tony shows his boxing skills, he`ll outclass Mckenzie while it lasts then Knock him out,

Re: Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
McKensie stands no chance of winning this. He has already shown his best punches can be taken by Bomber and bar the 2 knock downs, he got battered and the ref was kind enough on him to step in before he got really hurt. If the fight goes past 5 rounds, I will be surprised.
Re: Will Ovil Mckenzie get a chance against Cleverly if he beats
After the problems McKenzie caused Bellew in the first fight, i'm very surprised how one sided people think this is going to be
