Klitchsko marginally outpoints him. But Quarry knocks him down twice (maybe 3 times).

Klitschko TKO9.

Quarry probably would beat big brother, though.

when i first read this
i thought what a stupid thread
who in their right mind would think quarry
could handle a giant like klits

then i thought about it.
interesting match up

i do think wlads hug and grab style
would prevail.
but quarry's in fighting could make for an exciting first
5 rounds.with the possibility of a quarry win by ko.

the more likely scenario would play out
with wlad holding and placing that 245 lb frame
on jerry wearing jerry down and knocking him out
in 10-12 rounds

I'm just now getting back into the CURRENT heavyweight scene, my interest being sparked by the upcoming Haye and Klit fight.

I've been watching some youtube matches of Klit.

Very, very unimpressed.

I know it has been a few years, but that guy was pitiful getting knocked out in some of those fights.

If Quarry put him down like one replier said, I think Quarry finishes him.

My word, the current scene is weak, if that guy is champion.

I hope Haye wins by kayo.

I am very intelligent, bud.

Much higher than average.

I'm not sure the same can be said for you.

again another fly off the handle comment in this section

what i was saying was the first thought of mine was wlad would crush him
then after thinking about the actual fight i think it would be entertaining

sorry if i offended you by stating the way i felt
for the first 30 seconds of thinking about it

again this fight is interesting to say the least
but i'm sorry if i offended you but at no point did i
call you stupid or try to make you look stupid
chill it will be ok

I reluctantly agree with you yancey. But I'm keeping an open mind, and if you happen to pull anything really dumb along the way, I'll have to withdraw my support.

With that said, THIS THREAD has shown no sign of stupidity thus far.

G.I. very much like rust, it appears you never rest, remaining chronically parasitical, as you methodically and relentlessy wear away at the fundamental integrity of the core mechanism.

That's a mouthful. Skillful, I'm impressed.

Next time I need someone sliced and diced in words, I'm going to call on you. :D

GI is an okay guy.

Quarry at his very best had very fast hands and could get inside on a man very quickly. I never understand when someone pits a great fighter like a Quarry in a fantasy fight with a K brother and they say "Klitschko jabs him for several rounds and then finishes him" . . like the guy is just another plodding Chagaev/Peter/Rahman. Quarry did have issues with good jabbers so if he allows Wlad to frustrate him early, it could be a long night. But I also see Jerry's foot movement, feints, and quick counter-shots getting Wlad out of his comfort zone, which is where Wlad crumbles. Give me Quarry TKO 6.

Wlad TKO in the mid rounds. Quarry is game, but he's too small, and marks up to easily.

Wlad can crumble quite well, from watching some of those youtube videos.

Quarry in the mid-rounds seems right to me, too.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why the current heavy scene is so weak?

All the good athletes going into other sports?

It's not nearly as popular worldwide as it used to be, for several reasons, mainly socio-economic (and this goes across weight classes, but is worse at heavyweight b/c it was always relatively a shallower class than your feathers, welters, middles etc.). In some ways, even as a huge boxing fan, I have to say it's a good thing. Boxing is a brutal sport and if my son had the choice btw boxing and soccer/basketball or boxing and some opportunity at a white-collar profession, I'm not letting him box that's for sure.

As for 'too small' . . give me a break. Brewster isn't much bigger than Quarry, and Quarry is as big or bigger than Chagaev, Chambers, Byrd, Brock etc.

When I read this title of this thread I instantly thought that it was going to be an utter massacre with Jerry Quarry having to be pealed off the canvas. But then I thought it about a little more, perhaps Quarry might have a puncher's chance in this, he was tough as hell and would keep coming forward no matter what Wladimir K would do trying to hammer away at Wladimir K's body forcing him to back up and potentially drop his hands to protect the battered body leaving the fragile chin that has seen him meet the canvas 11 times. But then he would get up on the count of 9 seeing Quarry looking to finish him off runs for the rest of the round to get his head and defences sorted out, however he gets cut quite badly. In the next round knowing he is danger of being stopped because of the severity of the cut he comes all guns blazing landing powerful concussive shots on Quarry's head but not putting him down because of Quarry's iron chin. But backs and hammer's away until the referee pulls him leaving Quarry hanging over the ropes with blinded by blood, battered senseless but still standing like the tough warrior that he was.

'K' uses his long arms and hugs Quarry to death.
I see it as a sick boring fight much like watching John Ruiz coast to a unamious win.

Some of you seem to imagine that Jerry Quarry could not accomplish what Brewster accomplished.

Just give that some serious thought.

Thanks for your attention in this matter.

When has this EVER happened? This is a guy who wouldn't go after Peter after he had him doing the limbo in their fight . . .he wouldn't open up vs feather-fisted Chambers until Eddie was practically begging Wlad to knock him out after he could hardly keep his hands up in the 12th round.
