Which is the most worthwhile / worthless belt around?
WBC - Green Strap
WBO - The allegedly Belt! ha-ha. His fighters only ever go for that.
IBF - Why do the Brits rarely go for this belt?
WBA - Regular, super, interim blah blah blah
I saw the IBO belt the other day! Is that 5th in line after the big four or is it pointless like the rest of the others I can't be bothered to list?!
Any other belts worth mentioning?
Belts
Re: Belts
The Ring is the only good one. I once did something on here where I looked at the Ring rankings off all the different belt holders across the four main bodies. I think the WBC came out on top, followed by the WBO, but the project proved that they are all rubbish really.
Edit: Yep, here you go. This is as of March 2011.

Re: Belts
The reputation of these belts is largely based on who has fought for them and how long they have been around. The truth is that all of the main four have been guilty of corruption and disgraceful decisions. Each of them is out to make money and they have made up titles or stripped legitimate champions and given fights to unworthy boxers to suit their own needs.
If they were ranked they would probably be as follows 1)WBC 2)WBA 3)IBF 4)WBO.
Personally, I believe the IBO could out do these if promoters and fans gave it a chance. They have an unbiased rankings system (the others have been know to rank fighters based on $ signs rather than ability) and they have not been found of any corruption.
Sadly, these sanctioning companies are an evil we have to accept and it would be foolish to think they have served no good. Many fighters have secured their financial futures boxing for these titles. In the old days those fighters would have been nothing more than contenders and thus would have never earned the big money.
