Interesting fact....W.Klit...

Post by apophenic »

the HW Wlad faced prior to his first world title shot? and probably the 'best' HW he'd faced til he got his shot?

Monte Barrett.

you want more??

that was in London.

more still?

it was at the Millwall arena...David Haye is a Millwall fan.

Didn't look like he took that illegal shot too badly to me.

I thought that Haye was dropped by a legal left hook before the cheap shot landed. His ability to recover has generally been fine though, which is why I worry more about Wlad's durability holding up. If Haye gets hurt I think he can come back; I'm not confident about Wlad's ability to do the same.

I think Barrett's knockdown was legit, although it was as much from Haye being caught on top of the head, square on and jumping in as from Haye being hurt; the follow-up shot on the ground seemed to catch him a lot better.

yeah he was put down while off balance and then the shot that hurt him was while he was down. He should have been given time to recover but within 20 second he destroyed barrett instead.

Haye says himself he's been put down plent but never for longer than 10 seconds. He knows how to recover when hurt and does it quickly.

I agree, he took the shot pretty well and seemed to recover fine.

Talking about Haye's chin not being great is fine, but did it ever cross your mind that Wlad has been dropped more and sparked more often than Haye?

What does that say about his chin? Or are we ignoring that   ?

If your going to criticise one, atleast be consistent :TU:

It seems to be temple shots that wobble Haye and they could be the risk with big Wlad punching down on his noggin. Still going for Haye to stop him though.

The really worrying one is Jim Twite's one-punch KO of Haye as an amateur; Haye might not have been unconscious, but there was no way he was carrying on from that. Twite is not exactly Klitschko, although in Haye's defence he was a teenager at the time. I wonder how much his chin has improved.

His neck is about 3 times as thick that will make a big difference
