I was actually starting to respect him a bit more until he started talking about Hatton. Witter talks a lot of sense at times, but then goes and ruins it by sounding really bitter and twisted.

Good article, in fairness to Juniors criticism he has a right to be bitter - hes maybe the most ducked contender in the sport.

I haven't seen much of Kotelnik, but an Olympic Silver EMdalist makes him the same sort of level as Cottos recent opponents, and hes a counter puncher with skills, which makes him a good part of Juniors learning curve.

Witter needs a shot in the next year really or he'll be past his prime before he gets a shot

I've said this before and I'll say it again. There is nothing to be gained for Junior by grousing about his lot - yes he deserves a big fight but he has a style and a risk factor that promoters are not going to want anywhere near their fighters. So he has to do the same thing as other unloved fighters, and fight whoever, wherever, in order to force his way up rankings lists and to the attention of TV executives. If Witter gets himself a major title and beats some "name" opponents on Golden Boy cards in the US, then I think he will find that the money and the will is there to make those fights that are currently closed to him.

I can understand his bitterness, the rankings are a fornicating joke, but that's boxing, unless you are draw the sanctioning bodies don't give a fornicate.

Good point, what was all that about? Had he beaten Pinto, and with the benefit of hindsight that would have been highly likely, he would have been moved forward quite a way.

I really don't like Witter to much. The few fights I seen him in, besides him running from Judah, he just looked like he faced overmatched opponents that didn't have much of a chance. He won his last fight against Love, but it looks like he almost let him catch up at the end of the fight. I heard that he broke his hand, so that might be a reason it was close at the end. Anyways, I'm not a big fan of him and I hope Hatton fights him next and punishes his body!!! Thanks for the article though......

Quite possibly he did I agree, but that doesn't stop him going out there and pulling a "KTFO" on Pinto, as the US folk might say. As I ranted earlier, Witter is an unloved and unwanted guy who is going to have to fight the other guys nobody wants in order to get where he wants. No point him griping about the injustice of it all, he's got to make some waves.

Or maybe just maybe he wasn't lying about his injury - what was it a broken hand I foget? Fighting with an injury when you cant give your best against a hot prospect whle probably not getting well paid isn't too attractive

He was seen two days before Hatton - Tackie at a rival promoter's show with no sign of an injured hand.

So what's next for Witter then? Was less than impressive on Friday IMO, but still needs to plug on and try and get a title. Oui?

As you say Max, he's now #4 IBF, behind Urango, with #1 and #2 vacant. Could that be an eliminator then?

Also he's #2 behind Branco in WBC. I fancy PBF to vacate, which SHOULD leave Witter in for the vacant title. That would take a few months though.

And while I'm at it, what about Froch? Perhaps the winner of Magee and Tsypko?

I thought Witter was terrible on Saturday night. It was a boring fight and he showed no fire or enthusiasm. On the evidence of that fight, I don't think Witter would have much chance against neither Hatton nor Mayweather. I know every fighter has an off night but that was a bit ridiculous, especially considering he had built up some interest in himself and had the write up on Max Boxing.
