Soto gives up WBC title.

Post by Old bones Ian »

So with Humberto Soto giving up the WBC lightweight title, that must give the winner of Murray v Mitchell a great chance at fighting for the vacant title.
Murray is ranked No2 with the WBC, Mitchell isn't ranked, but a win would move him right back into world contention.

No1 with the WBC is Antonio DeMarco , a nice boxer but nothing spectacular.

Aye mate, it looks like Mitchell Or Murray may get a shot at it. Av not really seen too much of DeMarco, saw him against Edwin Valero which he got beat every round, he's nothing that either 0brit would worry too much about. Tall southpaw who will try box at range.

Rees is ranked in the top 12 as well, he won't get a shot at the vacant title, but whoever wins the title may look at him as a voluntary defence.

DeMarco may have been beaten up by Valero, but Valero was special. DeMarco would beat both Murray and Mitchell, imo. He'd either outwork them or they wouldn't be able to keep up with the pace and would get knocked out.

I rekon they'll have Linares v DeMarco for vacant title, been reported in a couple of websites that this match is being set for 23rd July, but now title is vacant they'll try and get it for that

As I said mate not really saw a lot of him. I think I unrated Valero's boxing skills and just take him as a Pressure puncher.
