Murray-Mitchell for Liverpool on 16th?
That's doing the rounds on Twitter, that the lightweight clash might be moved from London on 9th to the Burns-Cook show the following weekend. Anyone know anything about this?

If this is true the card in Liverpool on the 19th would be great as we already have the following fights:Glyn Leach wrote:That's doing the rounds on Twitter, that the lightweight clash might be moved from London on 9th to the Burns-Cook show the following weekend. Anyone know anything about this?
Ricky Burns vs. Nicky Cook, 12 rounds, WBO junior lightweight title
Tony Bellew vs. Ovill McKenzie, rematch, 12 rounds, Commonwealth and British light heavyweight title
Frankie Gavin vs. Curtis Woodhouse, 12 rounds, welterweights
Would Sky show all 4 fights though as that could be a 3 hour show.

They could do but why is mitchell v Murray moving. I not seen on sky schedule but warren was advertising on back of boxing news this week!exittored wrote:If this is true the card in Liverpool on the 19th would be great as we already have the following fights:Glyn Leach wrote:That's doing the rounds on Twitter, that the lightweight clash might be moved from London on 9th to the Burns-Cook show the following weekend. Its either poor tickets, a pull out on the Liverpool Card, or Mitchell's been nicked again.

Sounds like Mitchell might be struggling with the weight.

This fight just seems to have problems since the word go. I know a few on here were doubting it would ever happen. 1 week to lose weight & get his sharpness back or both. ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

Re: Murray-Mitchell for Liverpool on 16th?
I wonder how being added as essentially the undercard to another bill will change what either is to be paid.ThereByTheGrace wrote:I dont think it will happen either.leforge wrote:Tickets sales must been awful. So thanks to this cock up there be no live boxing next weekend.
Re: Murray-Mitchell for Liverpool on 16th?
Boxrec still has the Excel card up but without the Murray v Mitchell. Surely they wont put the rest of the card on from such a big venue & surely they cant charge the original prices!

Is it a wonder it's not selling with a fight poster like the one they've gone for? To be fair I thought this one would be a massive seller as both men have a good following and Warren is doing a top job promoting it. I hope it still goes through

Re: Murray-Mitchell for Liverpool on 16th?
For a TV fight this surely cant be the main one. Good undercard fight.slapbangwhallop wrote:Eh??? You do realise Dean Byrne is fighting Nasser Al Harbi dont you!leforge wrote:There no headline fight?slapbangwhallop wrote: I heard the rest of the bill will be shifted to the York Hall
Re: Murray-Mitchell for Liverpool on 16th?
Maybe so, if the bill topper is a 6x3's.leforge wrote:For a TV fight this surely cant be the main one. Good undercard fight.slapbangwhallop wrote:Eh??? You do realise Dean Byrne is fighting Nasser Al Harbi dont you!leforge wrote: There no headline fight?

Stephen Smith is now defending his Commonwealth strap but it's unconfirmed whether that is going to be next Saturday's main event.
