He didn't get it wrong. Getting it wrong would have been doing a Jimmy Mc with Danny Williams and letting his fighter get absolutely battered, like a lot of muppet trainers do.

Reality is Haye was always going to be too small and not have the natural stamina to rely on anything but hail mary punches and it was going to take a big mistake from Wladimir to get caught by the 2-3 big shots to drop him. Wladimir didn't make the mistake, the hail mary punches didn't land cleanly enough or in enough volume.

Booth got it totally wrong if he had boxed closer to Wlad he would have at least had a chance with those tactics from Booth Haye was never going to win

Booth got it spot on imo,
the only way Haye could win is by landing the bingo punch,

He didn't tonight but he was never going to out box him was he.
What did people expect ???

Hang on, I'm missing something here. Adam Booth is the best tactician since Hanibal isn't he? Didn't one of his fighters just sneak a one-point majority decision over James Degale recently?

Seriously, some of you lot need to get a bloody grip!

Lennox Lewis was spot on. He said that Haye can't just throw 2 shots at a time. He needed to throw more than 2. Make Wlad regret taking a half-step backwards. Wlad doesn't punch when he's thinking about defence.

Lennox had it right way before tonight, he said that Haye had to just go for it to win.

that really is the sort of chavvy brainless shite that has really turned me off haye. Being champ means more than winning a fight , have some respect about ya, David got well beat by a guy that was too good, hold your hands up & take it like a man.

Wlad was too big for Haye took he HAyemaker easily. Corrie Sanders, Brewester and early Peter who had Wlad down would have ko Haye!

You can't blame Booth, Haye swallowed it, he fought to survive and wasn't willing to risk going for glory in case he walked into one

Agreed.

One good thing is Hollywood will have to wait. He has no belts or great standing in the US.

Blaming the little toe was a load if bollocks.

wrong booth got the tactics right. As someone else already said above in reality haye was too small to bully wlad and they needed to rely on wlad making a mistake. Hence all the mind games - wlad just doesnt make mistakes.

Haye went 12 rounds with wlad without getting hurt i dont see how that constitues getting the tactics wrong.

If the tactics were just to go twelve rounds then he got them right, but if he was trying to win the fight then the tactics were quite clearly wrong

Haye has a very quick jab, when he chose to actually throw it he was out landing Wlad - That should have been picked up by Booth in the corner.

It was a poor performance by both the fighter and the trainer.

I thought Haye's tactics were fine for the first 3 rounds - he was standing in front of Wlad, making him miss with the jab and landing the right over the top a few times. Unfortunately, his resolve just seemed to fade and he retreated more and more after the early successes until the final round. I don't see what was wrong with Booth's plan, I believe he wanted Haye to slip the jab without moving backwards and he did that until he got discouraged by about the 4th or 5th.
