when did a brit last win a 5* fight abroad at odds against?
when did a brit last win a 5* fight abroad at odds against?
Maybe I'm missing something, buy when in a prime 40/60 fight did a brit last when a proper big fight abroad when the bookies said no?

Froch v Jermaine Taylor?

Not sure about bookies opinion, but how about khan maidana?
Re: when did a brit last win a 5* fight abroad at odds against?
Good shout, but I remember the odds being 5/6 for both fighters. Haye/Mormeck - wasn't Haye a 11/8 underdog?Flashing Blade wrote:Froch v Jermaine Taylor?

Khan was odds on for Maidana, and I'd question whether Froch might have been too.
My point is (having been on the Haye Hamburg tour of duty) is has there ever been a heavily supported tour where the fighter pulled it off, and to be honest I went all the way back to Honeyghan.

Robin Reid was a big underdog against Vincenzo Nardiello back in the mid 90s, fight took place in Milan I think.
He was anything between 2/1 and 7/2 depending on whom you bet with.

Wasn't AA betting favourite against Froch also? He was certainly the underdog against Taylor.

Wasn't Calzaghe the underdog against B-Hop?
Re: when did a brit last win a 5* fight abroad at odds against?
Was Haye the underdog? I don't know anything about the betting odds, but it seemed like a majority of people favored him to win it after Valuev looked like shit against Holyfield.keithmoonhangover wrote:x2boxingchat wrote:HAye V Valuev surely?

Was Haye favourite against Valuev or Mormeck? I don't think he was.
Froch wasn't favourite against Taylor or Abraham.
Depends on what you call 5* I guess. No need to go all the way back to Honeyghan though surely?

Eubank was slight favourite.
Benn was a big underdog against DeWitt, and underdog against Galvano.

Froch I think was 5/4 before Abraham - so yes it was him.
