Why? Do you really believe he put it all on the line in a bid to win that fight? He criticised the 'bums' who fought VK previously, but you tell me how his performance differed from the very fighters he disparaged?
Quite frankly your reaction is laughable as there are plenty of intelligent, rational posters on here who are entitled to feel disgruntled with Haye's performance, both during the fight and after it.
To be a fan of boxing doesn't mean you have to be a blinkered cheerleader.

That's right, mate, pin the blame on Wladimir for virtually shutting out his opponent. "Holding on for dear life.." course he was.

Couldn't agree more mate - and look at the way he went after Taylor in that 12th round when he was staring defeat in the face.

Chambers, a couple of points for you:

1) At cruiser he was great for British boxing. At heavy, fights like Audley and Saturday's have done nothing for British boxing. In fact, you can argue with some conviction that they've helped hammer a nail into the coffin (too melodramatic, but you know what I'm trying to say). It hurts me that Haye's sore toe incident will be held up as indicative of British boxing by members of the British public rather than the performances of 'road warriors' like Froch and Macklin.

2) Test himself against the best - In the last 3 years Haye has fought Barrett, Ruiz, Harrison and then didn't lay it on the line on Saturday. How does that constitute testing himself against the best? In the same period Froch fought Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham and Johnson. THAT is what testing yourself against the best really means.
1) I doubt Bonin, Ruiz, Audley and Barrett think Haye fights like Audley. He's obviously had to adapt his style and become more cautious in the HW division, especially when he's fighting one of the giants, but surely that's natural if you're giving away 30lbs and your main asset is your speed. People were saying Barrett was a good opponent and a good test prior to the fight, but then revisionism came into the argument after the fight. Ruiz was his mandatory defence, fight him or lose the belt. The Audley fight was just great business and common sense (admittedly that's not against the best). Outside of the 2 Klits is there much going on in the division?? Chagaev and Povetkin maybe, but isn't one permanently injured and the other one rabid (or hep c)

2) See my previous post + I agree that Froch has got the better recent resume, but that's probably the best in the world at the mo. My point was that Haye wasn't happy to sit at home doing a Calzaghe for the majority of his prime. He set himself BIG targets of unifying the CW and HW divisions and went after them. His matchmaking has been aggressive since the start of his career. Regarding Hayes fight overshadowing Macklins and Frochs performance that's hardly Hayes fault, he's just made better business decisions and is a better self-promoter IMO

Well Haye won 3 rds maybe even 4 so far from shutting out your opponent and yes maybe David didn't do what he promised but Wlad didn't either. Maybe "Holding on for dear life" was a slight exaggeration but he was hurt and clinching in the 12th which was laughable seeing as he was the one said he'd make Haye into a Pizza face(didn't happen) and then knock him out in the 12th(didn't happen).

Haye took the noisiest and safest route to earning a 50/50 purse with the Heavyweight Division's most dominant fighter.

In doing so, he talked a lot of talk. The upside being a £10 million purse on Saturday, The downside being he now has to face the British public after not only not walking the walk, but more importantly to public perceptions of him, seemingly not even being prepared to put it on the line. Something he criticised the majority of Wlad's most recent opponents for doing.

That's what Wlad does to people though. Call it boring, call it one dimensional, but his jab and size make him so dominant on the outside, that it takes the heart away from his opponent within a very short space of time / rounds.

I'm dissapoined David didn't go all out for a knockout in the last few rounds when it was obvious he needed one, but maybe he'd had the heart take out of him like all the others, and didn't fancy eating some big right hands.

One thing that's interesting to note is, on a weekend, where Nadal lost the Wimbledon final, having experienced a hairline fracture of his foot in the fourth round. He chose to make no mention of his injury and praise his opponent. That is class. It's a shame David couldn't have shown a bit more of the same, post fight.

Haye actually put in the best performance against Wlad since the first Sam Peter fight in 2005. Since then Chris Byrd, Calvin Brock, Ray Austin, Lamon Brewster, Tony Thompson, Hasim Rahman, Ruslan Chagaev, Eddie Chambers and Sam Peter have all been stopped while behind (and in most cases without a round to their names) and Sultan Ibragimov took 3, 2 and 1 rounds on the respective scorecards. While Haye didn't live up to his pre-fight predictions he did better against the best Wlad than any of his predecessors.

He wasn't stopped, he wasn't hurt, he actually got through with some shots, but he was soundly beaten. Add an extra point for the phantom knock down and it's a little closer. It wasn't the greatest performance but it was comfortably Wlads toughest fight in 6 years.

Exactly...i just disregard the jokers on here now as there's still some good intelligent writers who can cut through the bullshit without having vendetta against certain boxers. I first joined this site in May 2003 and it was great to find a forum like this to discuss my passion for boxing in a constructive and fun way. It's a shame though that some of the characters from back then no longer contribute and have been replaced by some idiots but i see this site as my first love and even though she's gone crazy and been sent to a Mental institute, i'd rather stick by her then abandon her for another site.

On a darker note, i think there's a lot of 'contributors' here who have never forgiven Haye for wearing the Turkish muslim flag and i'll leave it at that!

Yes, sold the fight THAT THE PAYING PUBLIC CONTRIBUTED TO. That's my problem with this, a lot of people paid 15 quid for this dross. Why am I going to applaud a fighter for delivering nothing but getting well paid. What do I care if Sky's balance sheet is in the positive?!!! What frigging bearing do either of these facts have on me as a fan?

Froch hasn't made a quarter the money Haye has, but he has a hell of a lot more respect amongst the fans. I suspect that probably means a bit more to Froch than it does Haye. Haye probably feels a little embarrassed right now, but he'll soon forget about it. I think Froch if he had turned in a performance like that, would probably have apologised, though actually, I cannot see him ever turning in a performance like that. His single loss to Kessler, he put his balls to the wall in that fight. Dirrell he simply couldn't get near as he was so quick and slippery.

I dont think Haye could really have won the fight, but he could have pushed the issue harder and farther,

You are quite frankly delusional on so many levels:
1) You make no reference in your original post to your statement of 'fact' being based on one judge's scorecard so don't be so utterly disingenuous by claiming "exactly" now.
2) I've been on here for a similar length of time and the idea that the level of dialogue has somehow diminished dramatically is also a rewriting of history on your part.
3) Finally, the inference that any negative comments regarding Haye constitute a vendetta and lack any substance or credibility merely makes a mockery of your claim that you like to discuss boxing in a constructive way and insults many posters who despite finding fault with Haye on Saturday are most definitely not lacking in intellect.

Ironically your analogy of a mental institute, coupled with your quite frankly bizarre ramblings simply reminds me of the saying regarding the insane man believing he's the only sane one and it's actually everyone else who is mental...

Do you mean the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus flag? What is there to forgive? Adam Booth's dad is Turkish Cypriot so David wears the emblem on his shorts. Why would people have a beef with that?
Haye also trains there. Cannot see why anyone would have a problem with that.
