Boy, this is a toughie... We all know the high profile ones like Ali, Frazier and Foreman.
But I'm guessing, that it goes way back before Ali's time in the squared circle.

My only guess would be: (and this is probably way off the mark) Jackie Fields
He won the gold medal in the 1924 Olympics as a Featherweight.
Then later, won World Welterweight tile in 1929.

Well, that's my best guess anyway.

Brilliant!!!

Genaro was the first to win the Gold in 1920 and La Barba did the deed in 1924. But La Barba beat Genaro for the vacant World Flyweight title in 1925, in only his 11th paid fight. Genaro then went on to finally win the title 1928.

Actually, La Barba beat Genaro for the American flyweight title and recognition as NBA champion in '25, and universal recognition in 1927, beating Elky Clark. Genaro won the NBA title in '28, but was never universally recognized.

I wouldn't say it was a "correction"... the general consensus is that after Pancho Villa died, LaBarba was the next champ, followed by Genaro. Which is why you got the answers right! :TU:

You don't need google when the questions are easy. BTW, Battling Siki also went by the name Louis Phal. If I hadn't known that, the last one would have stumped me . . . I hope that makes you feel better. :TU:

Here's a trivia name question for you: What was Max Schmeling's FULL name?
