Skipping

Post by Crease »

Back in the boxing gym, and I'm really struggling with my skipping. I know it's all to do with rhythmn, but do you have a count that you use or do you just relyo n "the feel of it" as it were?

Practice, practice, practice.

That's what I did.

And start on a leather rope and then switch to a speed rope once competant.

I find skipping in front of the mirror can help. And practice.

When I first started I couldn't skip at all, my coordination was horrendous!! But one day I decided I was going to learn and spent hours just skipping (and falling over my feet a lot) and I finally mastered it! After that I kept improving and now I'm actually half decent! The moral of the story is hard work helps your skipping.
