Don Krease Promotions: Joe speaks out

Post by Crease »

With the highly anticipated "dream match" between Joe Louis (whose 0 is predicted never to go) and the Louieville slabber who styles himself Muhammad Ali
Don Krease Promotions has gone public.

The Great Don himself has indulged in celebrations:
Image
As quoted from him:
"This is a celebration, my good man. This is what makes our sport of boxing great. The big fights for big prizes....
And yes, it should be celebrated, my stable have taken half the week off.
Kenny is snorting like there's no tomorrow
and Joe has been partying with Expug"

What exploits Joe Louis has been getting up to with Expoug nobody knows, but the question is, will it affect his performance on Week Seven fightnight? When the dream fight will be for the fabled and long-revered green and gold belt.

Unusually, Joe Louis himself has been outspoken on this matter:
Image
"Cassius Clay's got lots of ability, but he's not The Greatest. He's a guy with a million dollars worth of confidence and a dime's worth of courage. I could have whipped him. In all honesty, I feel it in my bones. Clay can be clobbered, and if you'll pardon an old-timer talking, I am cerrtain I know how.

Trouble with Clay, he thinks he knows it all. Fights with his mouth. He won't listen. Me, first thing I learned in the fight gane was to keep my trap shut and my ears wide open, especially when my wise old trainer, Chappie Blackburn, was telling me things for my own good.

I'd aim to be boss in the ring, where the gloves come smaller. Any man who fights Clay's fight is crazy. With me, Clay would have to fight a Joe Louis fight, my way, all the way. Which means I would go in to outpunch him rather than try to outbox him

If he stayed on the ropes, he'd get hurt. Sooner or later he'd try to bounce off, and when he did he would get hurt more. That's what the fight game is all about.

I'd press him, bang him around, claw him, clobber him with all I had, cut down his speed, belt him around the ribs. I'd punish the body, where the pain comes real bad.

Sooner or later, I think Clay would get the message. Get it so good that he'd stop worrying about that face of his

Cassius Clay is a nice boy and a smart fighter. But I'm sure Joe Louis could have licked him.

Hmmm, could have sworn Joe Lose has been turning down Ali's challenges from day one.

Now you're adding some relevance and substantive information to the ongoing conversation. I heartily agree with this observation and analysis. Swearing aside.

Joe Louis, without a world title? It could only be Crease.

Louis is clearly suffering from taking that fight against Page. He was so used to fighting below his level that when it was time to step to SSM he didn't know what to do. It saddens me to see the great man fallen so low.

Dumb Goose promotions seem to be offering Joe Luis to any body they think he can walk over, you offered me the fight against my boy, "Bashes 'Em" Witherspoon, who was already signed, we'll see in week nine.
