Would any incarnation of Tyson have beaten either Klit?
Re: Would any incarnation of Tyson have beaten either Klit?
The first incarnation would've had a good chance of beating any fighter that's ever lived.
The other watered down versions of Mike would lose to Vitali and have a puncher's chance at best against Wlad.

Mike in his prime would have humbled Wlad, but maybe not so easy against Vlad

You don't look at a record to decide who would win. You look at how they fight against who they fight. Wlad would have crapped himself. No doubt about it, imo. Vitali would have struggled to make a dent in a prime Tyson, imo. Vitali struggled with an old, fat, slow Lennox Lewis.bugs wrote:Nothing in Tyson's record suggests he would be either brother. Even peak Tyson was mainly fighting no-hopers and B grade heavies. Today's Wlad would jab him to a pul and Vitali would break him down with heavy short punches every time he tried to close the gap. Tyson never beat a top fighter.

Tyson would destroy Wlad in quick fashion. His head movement was the greatest I've ever seen so he'd easily slip the jab and get inside Wlad. Tyson was a great inside fighter as well, his uppercuts were vicious too. I can't see how Wlad makes it past 4 rounds, he would be unable to control Tyson.
I give Vitali a fair shot at Tyson though, maybe with his granite chin and work-rate could cause some issues. Providing Vitali could survive the early onslaught.

IMO, the first 2 versions would kayo Wlad quicky, version 1 and probably 2 would beat Vitali on points. I can see Vitali turning into Bonecrusher Smith after a few rounds.
Version three then the brothers both stop him, though he has a punchers chance against Wlad particularly.

Tyson relied on intimidation. He couldn't have intimidated Vitali if he took a lump hammer in the ring.
Re: Would any incarnation of Tyson have beaten either Klit?
Tyson in his Catskill-crowd days would be too much for either of them, Wlad would be destroyed fast, I think Vitali could take him the distance Tucker fashion.
The post Rooney Tyson still Ices Wlad but takes longer to get to him, I can see Vitali beating him.
Obviously the rotting corpse of Tyson would lose to them both.

When considering Tyson's standing too many people focus only on his peak and ignore anything after Spinks. Fact is by this criteria he was past it at 23 - his peak should really have been far longer and his decline post 1989 means he isn't a true great for me. Devastating, exciting, very very good yes, but great no. Maintaining discipline and motivation are a key part of establishing greatness, Tyson didn't do that and that's down to him.
On the subject I think any version of Tyson would have struggled with Vitali and versions 2 and 3 are stopped by him.

No 1 Tyson did not blow away 'Quick' Tillis, Smith, Tucker or my sentimental favourite Mitch 'Blood' Green. The Klits are not stupid enough to do a Berbick or fearful enough to do a 'Truth' Williams.
He might beat Wlad but 2 round blow out? I doubt it.
A big man, with a stout chin who knows how to use his dimensions would always run him close or beat him. If Vitali ties him up and walks him backwards Tyson is pretty much done.
Holyfield has Tyson's heart in a silver locket round his neck, medallion man style.

Tyson was good but people remember sportsmen of the past in higher regard than they actually deserve. No version of Tyson beats Vitali. Version 1 of Tyson beats Wlad, version 2 is 50/50 and version 3 has no chance.

Prime Tyson wouldn't have felt them out and worried about their power
He'd have gone for the jugular; he was too fast, too intimidating and hit like a truck
Wlad in one, Vitali mid-rounds

Young Tyson beats both; 1997 Tyson beats Wlad but not Vitali.

i used to love tyson, the way he would walk down to the ring no nonsense get in bash his ooponent up then on to the next fight but for me an its only my opinion,i think both klits would of been too tall for tyson to do anything with. these two are both superb athletes they dont cut corners so for me i a k.o for both klits on tyson
