Im dissapointed in Gavin here, he seems to really lack commitment to making the weight im not sure whether he has the commitment to get to the level that his talent could get him to

dont go making excuses already curtis, ok hes coming in 3 pound over what was agreed, but its 3 pound for god sake. it might make a slight difference if it goes the whole 12 and hes leaning on you all through the fight but lets be honest here mate. you wont lay a glove on him you wont win a single round and youl be made to look like a novice.

so to sum up if you go the full 12 rounds and frankie wins by a point or 2 then i will come back on here and say what a close fight that was, maybe if you would have fought 3 pound lighter you may have got it, but iv got a feeling il be coming on here saying i hate to say i told you so but that was a case of boy v man, lets see if im right :TU:
what a load of old bollox

the man's starved himself to make a contracted weight of 4 lbs over his fight weight (fair do's if that was necessary to make the match-up, a little give and take etc) but then to get told after a couple of months at 5 minutes notice to concede 3 more is HIGHLY unprofessional.
"3 lbs" don't make any difference in boxing? what a load of tosh. Why not do away with scales altogether in that case and just throw two lads in a ring that look similar sized.

It's completely unsurprising that somebody that spouted the above should then go on to say..."you're gonna get slapped around the ring like a boy....."

almost as much fcking DRIVEL as what Jim McDonnell and that fat, puffy, pale faced old fart were coming out with in Mr Groves' direction.
do me a favor mate dont talk to me as tho you know more about the sport than me.

i know all about making weight, and the implications of it. my point if you read it properly (that is if you can read) is if a fighter is giving away 3 pound, it has nothing to do with his boxing skill/ability. if like i said earlier the fight is close then il hold my hand up and say maybe the weight did play a factor, but this isnt going to be close in the slightest. woodhouse wont get near him. the stats will back my theory up.

as for the weight, yes its unprofessional, but its not like there asking him to lose another 3 pound, and hes killing himself to do it. theres no point crying over it as tho its made a world of difference, its a slight inconvenience, but imo it will have absolutely no relevance on the fight, there so far apart in talent weight will not come into play

Fair play that the 2 are way out of play when it comes to ability and class; that should be proven on a level playing field. In boxing the weight is a massive part of maintaining a level playing field. If an agreements being made then the agreement should be kept. The weight probably won't make a lot of difference to the result but that is different to people (fans) being bothered about the rules (without the rules there is no sport).

Who is Right Hook? Seems to be a boxer training with Funtime. Anyway i agree and disagree on the weight point. More weight behind the punches, and more weight when leaning. However i always think back to the Mayweather vs Marquez fight. The weight was not an issue whatsoever. Everyone blabbed on about Mayweather having an advantage with the weight. it didn't matter because Mayweather totally outclassed him. Virtuoso performance.
Im loving the Funtime and Curtis Woodhouse banter though. Funtime could do with some grammar training. But on the plus side he is selling the fight. Making it interesting.

Two professionals having a bit of banter is good for us.

I can see your point about the weight in Mayweather v Marquez, it weren't an issue BUT I can imagine it played on Marquez mind, showed who was the bigger and more powerful man in the scheme of things and helped with Mayweathers comfort level.

If a bout is made at the weight then make the weight, simple as.

Not good that, unfair on Curtis, one making the weight the other not, lack professionalism by Gavin and over confidence, was not Gavin sloppy at 10.7 last time, did it not make him slower, never mind the so called chest infection he looked flabby and not as sharp. Gavin seems to be doing a Guzman. From Lightweight to Light Welter to Welter whats next Light Middle. At least the WBO Intercontinentle Welterweight title is being fought at 10.7.

Firstly could people leave Frankie alone about his grammer please ! not everyones a boxing writter.
Secondly people on here are comparing Gavin to degale because of his confidence, Frankie has more talent in his little finger, it looks to me that people in this country carry on supporting underdogs no matter what !
And last but not least, Curtis as much as i admire you for A- getting into a boxing ring and B- fighting someone miles ahead of you talent wise, is the 3lb extra weight going to be an excuse or not IF you loose of course ? because i cant remember if i read it on here or watched it on youtube but im pretty sure you once said that your fight Gavin at 140 or 147, true or false ?

i wont use the weight as any sort of excuse i had 2 options fight or not i choose to fight, im confident i can beat him at 140 or 147 the point is the CONTRACT says 144 he should be made to make it just like i was willing to do because hes the golden boy im expected to just accept it, what do you think would happen if i rang allegedly and said frank i cant do 144 can you change it to 147? dont forget im promoted by him aswel he would tell me make the weight or jog on i get told its 147 or we will bring somebody else in like it or lump it ive been away from my family for 8 weeks getting ready for this of course im gunna take the fight but to answer your question NO EXCUSES im ready thats all i have to say on the matter its over i agreed to the extra weight if i thought it would dampen my chances of winning i would of turned it down i wont be on the forum leading up to the fight hope you all enjoy the fight may the best man win :box:

Respect Curtis. Frankie agreed to a contracted weight and should make it. End of.

If he can't make 10st 3 for this fight then surely his days at light welter are over and he should campaign at 10st 7 from now on?

I hope the difficulty making weight doesn't mean Frankie hasn't trained properly.

For someone who some people think is going to be a P4P star, Frankie doesn't half come across as a bit of a plank. Or maybe he is a plank?
