I'm at the stage now where even if sicknote fights and beats Lacy this side of the next glacial age, I think I'd be "Right. And?" He should have been doing this years ago. And if he beats Lacy and starts proclaiming himself the inventor of sliced bread, I for one won't be swallowing it. He's wasted his talent.jeej wrote:He is definitely meant to be fighting Lacy, if Lacy beats Reid.Max Molyneux wrote:Isn't he supposed to have a tune up then fight Lacy if he beat Reid?
Yeah afraid i have been saying it for a long time, he cannot aford to have anymore marking time fights as his career is one big marking time, fighting Veit for the second time summed it all up for me. Kessler is the number one in the division for my money, i think Froch has more chance of getting a defining fight next, say what you like about him he maybe a cocky shit but at least he lays himself on the line. He said on Saturday he wanted to face the "German" WBA champion called Kessler
I'm still a Calzaghe fan, but have given up on him really setting the world on fire. While the Lacy fight would be a big step up for him considering whom he's been fighting. I wouldn't exactly call it a defining fight. IMO lacy is overrated. He really missed the boat backing out of the Glen Johnson fight.

Just replying on that Johnny Owen thread reminded me of something. I was listening to BBC Radio Wales when Calzaghe 'fought' Viet in Germany, and the old guy doing the post-fight interviewing said with warbling emotion "thanks Joe, you're a credit to the whole of Wales", or words very similar to that. I was quite offended by this, and I'm not even Welsh. Here's the reason why:
Louis - Farr
Calzaghe - Viet
Driscoll - Attell
Owen - Pintor
Jones - McCrory
Pick the odd one out.
