Re: Can anyone recomend any healthy snacks
How is a Kit Kat healthy? I'd think something like a cereal bar, nutri grain bar, nuts (in moderation), seeds etc
You don't like the texture of any fruit?

Re: Can anyone recomend any healthy snacks
Forget fruit. A piece or two of fruit per day is ok but people get it in their heads that fruit is like some super healthy snack. Fruit is packed with sugar/carbs. I like to have a piece of fruit in the morning and possibly an hour or so before exercise. A good healthy snack that I enjoy are Kale Chips.
I guess I just don't "snack" very much. For a "snack" I enjoy salad with romaine lettuce, spinach, carrots, red cabbage, grilled chicken breast topped with red wine vinegar/ honey mustard. Its all about being creative in the kitchen with fat free/low sugar/low sodium sauces and mixing various veggies and lean meats.

Re: Can anyone recomend any healthy snacks
How could I forgot....protein shake with 2% milk. Tastes just like a milkshake. Skim milk is better but a little 2% tastes great once in a while.
Re: Can anyone recomend any healthy snacks
Why dont you have 8 ounces of low fat yoghurt for a snack?
Re: Can anyone recomend any healthy snacks
Cottage cheese & celery makes a good snack, as does a prepared boiled egg or some http://www.kapaipuku.com/
Re: Can anyone recomend any healthy snacks
I'm told you really like a big load of protein shake.Prediction..Pain wrote:How could I forgot....protein shake with 2% milk. Tastes just like a milkshake. Skim milk is better but a little 2% tastes great once in a while.

I go to Easy Weigh shops and get mixed nuts and raisans mix, non salted.
nuts are great for protein andthe rasians are good for energy, sugar boost, cheap as well from those shops

I tend to have a ready supply of pre-cooked chicken in the freezer, portioned out into 250gm bags. It's really convenient, and can easily be made a bit more interesting by adding spices / veg / etc.
Generally I plan my meals well, and fill the gaps with protein / weight gain / mrp shakes. I enjoy cooking, and can eat more than anyone I've ever met - so my challenge is to avoid overeating!

Muesli and bran flakes are top quality!! Tinned fruit cocktails are really good as well.
Re: Can anyone recomend any healthy snacks
Tinned tuna in brine or spring water is a great hunger buster, on a brown rice cake, or with some brown rice, with a bit of cottage cheese and tomato it's a great healthy snack
