Agreed Mr S but if the hype is to be believed - and I've nothing to disprove that - then surely Frankie should be a consumate professional and regardless of the opponent should have no issues whatsoever with his weight / prep etc.
You are a trainer.
Who would you blame for this fiasco over the weight ?
The trainer ? The fighter ? The Conditioner (if he has one) ?
Personally I believe it's down to the fighter.
Having established that the weight was a contractual obligation, surely Frankie could have handled the situation more gratiously.
Instead of that he has come over as an arrogant tw@t.
The silence from Arnie and a certain Promotor is deafening - and they post on here.
What does that tell you ?
Simple motto - if you're in the wrong, act gratiously.
One thing is for sure, if the hype is fulflled then he'd best get sorted out when he's playing with the big boys - and I mean that with no disrespect to Curtis.

Eyup mate, no war of words from me either, bit daft really.......but i do think you are looking at it from Rose tinted glasses a bit.
contract states the weight...and he had more than enough time to get it right...it does show a lack of professionalism and a bit disrespectful don't you think?
Anyways, i'm still looking forward to the weekends boxing (If they all come off that is)

Suppose so. If Curtis never made the weight he would be binned. On another note though it was Curtis who instigated this fight, and did say he would fight around this weight to get the fight. I hope it is a good scrap. Curtis ain't going in there to outbox him, he is going to try to smash him up. That said, I like both, but on this occasion I have to go with my home fighter in Gavin. Good luck to both though, I hope it's live.

Must be a lack of Discipline & Professionalism. Also, I could be wrong, but doesn't Kerry Kayes work with Gavin?THE MESSIAH wrote:If it is a weight issue then he wil be in trouble, he is caught between weight classes - thats never good.wesley05 wrote:Just read the post that Curtis wrote about the weight being changed, is this fair ? I mean if Curtis can make the weight with 10 weeks notice why can't Gavin, this really needs addressing to the sport. This is not the first time for Gavin not making weight (olympics) really hope Curtis pulls this off not only for the piss take but what a story it would be if he beat "the next big thing"
