In bantamweight action, Isaac Torres (Mission, Texas) claimed the remaining U.S. Olympic Team Trials berth. Torres defeated Joe Perez (Fountain, Colo.) by a 28-16 margin to win the bantamweight final round bout.

Wow two time NCBA champ Bret Rather from Las Vegas won a 31-26 decision over Trevor Bryan at 201+. The kid can fight and keeps getting better each bout.

Anybody know why Terrell Gausha failed to make the U.S. Nationals and the Last Chance Qualifier -- very disappointing.

Anyways, the two best bouts I saw at the tournament (It was six days two sessions so I couldn't possibly see them all) were Grayton vs. Day and Caferro vs. Easter Jr. in the final. Luis Arias and Sippio-Cook had a great one too.

I really thought Carlos Chavez had the skill to win it all at 123 and then just seemed to not be as sharp losing to Perez in the semis but was still close. Torres honestly surprised me. Every fight of his was close but he always managed to pull it out.
