Did Khan get back with Sky?Asterix wrote:Yeah, Khan-Judah is PPV. They could be on the same channel as part of the same PPV. We sometimes have that here. You pay once and watch boxing from 9/10pm until 5am (starting in the UK and then moving to the US)!SaadOffTheDeck wrote:It's no cost to the promotion to throw it on PPV here. Why not do it? Before I found streams, I would have ended up getting it. I bought Sultan/Briggs.
Is Khan/Judah PPV over there? That could also be a contributing factor.

Nope, he's on Primetime (a new-ish channel). Fury's promoter, who is staging Fury vs Chisora, is currently working with that same channel.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Did Khan get back with Sky?Asterix wrote:Yeah, Khan-Judah is PPV. I love the 3:30 fights here from Europe, takes me back to when Saturday afternoons were loaded with Boxing. Hopefully Wlad gives Chisora the opportunity he deserves after he takes out this clown. Not that he will win, but Wlad screwed him twice.

Thanks. Sometimes there are fights on in Australia that we can watch just before lunchtime here. It's nice.

Chisora vs Fury is on Channel 5 in Britain isn't it?
Re: Chisora v Fury - Saturday, July 23rd US PPV Promo Spot
You tell me! Hennessey's last TV cards have been on Primetime. Did he sign a contract with Channel Five?Horse wrote:Chisora vs Fury is on Channel 5 in Britain isn't it?

I like Fury, he can get all the American Guy Ritchie-philes into the sport with his "beh-knookle gypsy bohxing" background.
On the real though I hope he wins. I don't care about Chisora, he's just another jackass who would've stood around getting poked to death by Wladdy. If there was ever a paper challenger it was him.

Hard to imagine anyone hanging their hopes on a 28-year-old "prospect," who has just barely cracked the top 50. In terms of potential and development, that sounds like the British version of Seth Mitchell, Johnathon Banks, or what Kevin Johnson was a few years ago. But whatever, he's your prospect, not mine.Asterix wrote:Agreed. David Price is the guy most of us believe has very good potential. The main worry with him is his chin.yid14 wrote:Have to disagree there mate think David Price is most peoples favourite british Heavyweight prospect.Lackeos wrote:I don't understand why it would be PPV in America and free to air in England. It would seem like, if anything, Brits might be willing to pay money for it and Americans wouldn't.
Despite the fact that nobody, including Brits, really likes Chisora or Fury very much, the winner of this fight will pretty much be carrying the future of England's hopes and dreams. Chisora already won a prospect showdown with Sexton, and the winner of this will clearly be Britain's champion of prospects.

I don't think many of us are hanging our hopes on him.Lackeos wrote:Hard to imagine anyone hanging their hopes on a 28-year-old "prospect," who has just barely cracked the top 50. "It's boxing. It just means you're white."Asterix wrote: My surname is also Irish, but I'm definitely not Irish. Tyson Fury is English through and through, whether he likes it or not. His heritage is Irish, but what matters is where you were born and where you were brought up, when discussing nationality.
My original point was just an out-loud sigh at the manipulation of the American public.

As the guy said in the Great White Hype when a boxer introduced as "Irish" Terry Conklin disputes the tag: "Shut up, it's boxing - it just means you're white"Asterix wrote:Ah, they're going for Irish angle with Tyson Fury, despite him being born in England, living in England, having fought for the English title and being the son of an Englishman. Gah! In that case, I'm also Irish, despite being English.

Yup. And that could be the key PPV drawing factor :Pjujigatame wrote:Truly a PPV-worthy affair.
