well according to here hes a heavy , he weighed in as a small heavy for his last couple of bouts and hasnt fought for 18 months , no doubt hes in really good shape , hence being a heavy
He is 6ft solid and really is a heavyweight - he has fought at cruiserweight but now is back at a more sensible weight for him. Because you can make a lighter weight doesn't always mean you should fight at the lowest weight possible.
He is tough, strong and he comes forward and would be a good test for a lot of our heavies over here that I can guarantee. Why not bring him over here - a flight from Seoul to London (return) is about 600 quid, so it is not going to break anyone's bank - it is either that or we bring over Daniel Peret (again).

I was an amateur with Justin (Canadian ESL teacher) back in Canada. He's really good! Maybe 80 or so fights? Then we both trained at the same pro gym here in Korea.
The fight he had with Jae-chan was awesome! Justin's 80 amateur fights and 4-0 record vs. Jae-chan's 20 amateur fights and 1-0 record.
Justin was ahead on points right until the final round. All he had to do was stay on his feet for 3 more minutes...

It was unbelievable. Surreal would be a better word.
I didn't know Jae-chan then; I was helping in Justin's corner. We all thought it was a lock because Justin was superior in technique and had so much more experience.
Both guys went to Hell and back. Jae-chan was the one standing at the end, though.
The very next day, Justin left Korea and never came back. And he never boxed again. I would have liked to have seen a rematch.
Chiasson won something called 'ring king' which was a tourney to find a heavyweight hopeful in South Korea which Justin won. This set him up for South Koreas first domestic heavyweight title fight. Chiasson had the skills but Kim had the aggression and in the end the better fitness and the crowd went apeshit. It seems a shame Chiasson didn't carry on boxing when he went back to Canada but there is still time as he is still only young and he is a good fighter. Here is the conclusion of the battle.
I`ve no doubt that Jae Chan Kim is a tough guy with a lot of heart, but how would his technique stand up against some of the current young pro fighters in the UK? Someone like Richard Towers, although not exactly young, he is still a novice in the pro game, so it might be an interesting fight.

He is a natural (albeit small) heavyweight and is teak tough, I am hoping Joe will put up the battle vs Chiasson up on youtube as he has it on tape (or I think he does - pardon me Joe if that is not the case) one thing is for sure - he will come to win and won't be running out of puff after a few rounds.
