Would Haye dominate division if Klitschkos retired?

Post by Controversial »

Lets say the two Klitschkos retired and Haye was still champ, and willing to fight on for 2-3 years, do you think he was good enough to clean the division out?

Not sure he fights often enough to dominate. Also not sure he's proved that he could beat the other contenders.

I think he could knock out the other guys. He has it in him to beat Wlad as well.

Wlad ain't retiring anytime soon. He is 35, and in his prime earning a good few million per fight for easy work. Big bro is 39, and has still not been properly beaten in the ring. It is more interesting if they stick around and take on the next big thing so we can really see what their made of.

there is a good 2 guys out there ,if the klits retire, that haye would have some good fights with adamek and arreola both of thes could easily knock haye out,i think adamek has earned his place to fight for a title better than haye. how would haye of done against michale grant, chris arreola and people like these?

I don't think he'd dominate the division. He'd have winnable fights against all of the next top five after the K's, but that doesn't mean he'd win them all. I think he'd have some tough fights in there. He could come out on top but I couldn't see a situation where he keeps beating all the top guys decisively as the K's have done.

I'm not sure about dominate but I think he could beat alot of the contenders.

I still think guys like Helenuis, Chambers, Povetkin, would create a hard nights work for Haye, and possibly beat him.

The thing with is; he hasn't really thought anyone at HW to suggest he would smash the guys above. He put in a poor performance vs Wlad, so its hard to judge him at heavyweight.

Haye would have a tough night's work against Arreola , good chin big puncher.
Adamek -Haye would be an excellent fight I'd much rather see this than see Vitali beat on another smaller man.
Haye would spank Fast (food) Eddie Chambers...

I think it's out of sheer desperation.

As impressive as the Klitschkos are, they're not box office & unless they're fighting someone like Haye, precious few are interested.

Haye is an exciting fighter (usually) & he puts bums on seats, but sadly, as Wladimir showed us, Haye is not the saviour of the HW division, as he is nowhere near good enough to defeat any the fighting doctors.

Reeling off a list of contenders and there is a plausible argument that every single 1 of them could on there best night beat Haye just as he could them. If Haye had beaten Wlad would it have been a super shock if he was to have lost the titles to a Helenius/Areola/Povetkin etc. or just a minor upset????

in short yes he could domintae, but im very doubtful he would and could forsee a very open, borderline interesting division

I THINK VITALI is good value, but he's to good for this era of chumps.as wlad said on haye, he isnt any diffrent or better then the others to visit germany.i dont think haye can really market a return on the last showing.

I think Haye was better than mostly all other of Wlads challengers, at least he made him miss and work for the win. Alot of peoples dissapointments and dislike seem to be clouding the fact Haye did OK, just not nearly attacking enough to get near a win.

Haye only came to heay to make money and win a belt or chance it once for a unified title.

He will retire unless he gets a Klitschko. He is not tough enough to fight his way into contention with the top 10, imo.

He couldn't even dominate Valuev. What chance does he have with guys that can move?

I look at the Brothers K and I do not think they are currently entertaining thoughts of retirement, simply because they are in excellent shape for every single fight they are in and they have developed a style which fully maximises their physical assets etc that does not see them get dragged into to all out brawls that could see them fight into their 40s as you had Vitali out for 4 years in order to have surgery and recover from knee and back problems he could carry on til about 42-43 if he wished and Wladimir K the same if they still have the hunger to continue clearing out the heavyweight division as they are doing. Once they exit stage left to count their millions and to pursue their political ambitions the division shall become wide open and quite interesting.

I say that it could be come wide open as you will have someone out of David Price/Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora in the top 10-15 heavyweights in the world from the UK in the next two or three years . You will also have Robert Helenus there or there abouts along with Odlandier Solis as well once he recovers from his knee surgery and gets back into the ring along with Alexander Povetkin. I reckon once the brothers K ride off into the sunset we could be looking at very exciting age of the heavyweights.

very exciting for the reason that they will all be very average therefore competitive?

In my opinion, once the monster physiques of the Klitschko's vanish we may see people step up the weight divisions to win world titles. Whilst there is oversized creatures like that creeping between the ropes we are destined for boredom.

We're going through a phase where there are only 2 world class HWs out there. No need for a SHW division, as it'll pass.
