New Sugar Ray Leonard book

Post by SUGARRAYSMELEE »

I don't know if this has been posted before, but Sugar Ray Leonard has a new autobiography coming out June 7th called

" The Big Fight- My Life In and Out of the Ring"

I think it will be interesting to read about his personal life as well as hear his story from his perspective. Despite being such a celebrity in his heyday, there is surprisingly little literature on him. I remember a book called "A Fistful of Sugar" that is out of Print, and a couple others pertaining to him and other fighters, "Four Kings" and "Sorcery at Caesars".

I'm hoping this will set the record straight and appease his fans. I'd be interested to see how much it sells upon it's release,
Is he still relevant or has he been largely forgotten? I hope he hasn't been, I'll always remember him and I'm sure many of you will too.

Heres a link to the pre-order, there is no image yet, but if you scroll down, there is a brief synopsis of the book.

I think it'll do well. Ray was always popular and still is. I'll be reading it.

As long as it's nothing like the Holyfield autobiography then I'll buy it.

I've recently acquired a copy from a well known on-line retailer.

Early days yet, but an interesting read thus far.

I don't know about the USA, but here in Britain, it seems as if we've forgotten Sugar Ray Leonard, as I could not find his autobiography in any well know book sellers in this country. :oo

From what I understand the coach gave him a blow job.

IMO if you get a blow job in your late teens not sexual abuse.

I checked in 2 different branches in Manchester & couldn't find it, much to my amazement.

I had to get mine on-line from Amazon.

When I was 19 he was driving me home when suddenly I was in his mouth. I didn't know what to do. Should I open the door and get out? Punch him in the face? I just decided to enjoy myself and weep about it 30 years later.

Checked in Waterstones in Gloucester today and it wasn't there either ..... but the Duran book was! :box:

Maybe it's sold out as everyone wants to find out who gave Leonard a gobble! :bag:

It's a pretty good read. The Froch book is poor. The McGuigan one is good to. Got Quarry's to read next.
