Yes, Naz storms America (sort of)!
Re: REMEMBER THIS? ANYONE ELSE OUT HERE GETTING THIS HYPE?
I got caught up in the hype, paid to see him a couple of times in England and was giving odds of 3-1 against Barrerra - doh.
I wonder if Naz was still boxing he would have been in the biggest T1T in British boxing thread?

Re: REMEMBER THIS? ANYONE ELSE OUT HERE GETTING THIS HYPE?
there will never be another fighter as confident and as cocky as naz,at the time he was around i didnt like him but knew he had talent, now i wish he was still around he would of brightened this sport up alot.

But like David Haye couldn't back it up on the big stage after all the talk. Let's face it looked a mug in the end, and now he looks like an umpa lumpa.THE MESSIAH wrote:NAZ WAS A ONE OFF FOR THESE SHORES.

True, but he was a natural showman, he never swore and seemed morally a decent guy, but yes he lost at the highest level, but gave a better account than Haye did against Wlad.yid14 wrote:But like David Haye couldn't back it up on the big stage after all the talk. looked a mug in the end? he got beat by barrera thats no shame and then had a 12 round decision win against some spainsh guy then retired. naz backed it up imo he beat every champion at the time in his division now to me thats backing it upyid14 wrote:But like David Haye couldn't back it up on the big stage after all the talk. cause whatelse could he of done to back it up, please tell?
Re: REMEMBER THIS? ANYONE ELSE OUT HERE GETTING THIS HYPE?
he only got beat once and that was to a barrera many consider the best featherweight out there at that time, which i agree he was,so it was like number 1 vs number 2 featherweight naz was made to look silly at times because barrera was a clever boxer who had seen it all remember he was pro from the age of 15THE MESSIAH wrote:True, but he was a natural showman, he never swore and seemed morally a decent guy, but yes he lost at the highest level, but gave a better account than Haye did against Wlad.yid14 wrote:But like David Haye couldn't back it up on the big stage after all the talk. Re: REMEMBER THIS? ANYONE ELSE OUT HERE GETTING THIS HYPE?
the thing that let naz down was he surrounded himself with yes men and people who bummed him up,he had his family as his managers and you know the old saying dont mix family with business. remember the programme the little prince or something like that, his brother on it was like "ooooh naz isnt happy someone is gonna get hurt today" then manny steward came out after the sparring session and to me it was like manny was saying naz just took a beating but not in so many words,he wasnt happy with the way it went. naz dropped everyone that made him who he was w@rren,ingle all the old boys who we used to see messing around before fight night and replaced them with false people, abit like tyson when he got out of jail.
Re: REMEMBER THIS? ANYONE ELSE OUT HERE GETTING THIS HYPE?
He didn't just get beat by Barrerra He got hammered, after all the talk of being the greatest ever, and then your right he beat some spanish guy and then disappeared - Legend. Maybe he should have came back, showed some heart, left a legacy. Maybe he should become a racing car driver.fasteddie wrote:looked a mug in the end? he got beat by barrera thats no shame and then had a 12 round decision win against some spainsh guy then retired. naz backed it up imo he beat every champion at the time in his division now to me thats backing it upyid14 wrote:But like David Haye couldn't back it up on the big stage after all the talk. yes i agree he should of came back and proved heart,im not saying he is a legend not in a million years he never will be,if i was naz i would of had a comeback fight then fought barrera then paquiao and if he still had heart fought onyid14 wrote:He didn't just get beat by Barrerra He got hammered, after all the talk of being the greatest ever, and then your right he beat some spanish guy and then disappeared - Legend. That's not very nice.yid14 wrote:I got caught up in the hype, paid to see him a couple of times in England and was giving odds of 3-1 against Barrerra - doh.
I wonder if Naz was still boxing he would have been in the biggest T1T in British boxing thread?
You do realise that without Naz this very site wouldn't have been created!

Re: Prince Naseem
Well maybe he can come on and tell you himself but from my understanding is that the guy who created this site was never a boxing fan at all but he was invited to watch Naseem and was mesmerized and became a big fan of Hamed and then the sport. He used to hang out with some members of the Hamed family and i guess after Hamed lit the flame he ended up creating this site a few years later.
On another note i never realised that Carl Froch only came back to boxing due to his hero worship of Naz.

nas lost his hunger, he got spanked by barrera because he didnt bother to train.fasteddie wrote:yes i agree he should of came back and proved heart,im not saying he is a legend not in a million years he never will be,if i was naz i would of had a comeback fight then fought barrera then paquiao and if he still had heart fought onyid14 wrote:He didn't just get beat by Barrerra He got hammered, after all the talk of being the greatest ever, and then your right he beat some spanish guy and then disappeared - Legend. Technically, but NAZ can at least say he was never ktfo and went on to lose to AMIR KHAN.
Re: Prince Naseem
was he though? he was a pressure fighter but nas had monsterous one punch ko power. If nas had trained properly instead looking past the fight, my guess is he would have connected at some point areally hurt barrerra, he should have taken a rematch.yid14 wrote:and Barrerra was better than him.
Re: Prince Naseem
I think they would have to have fought quite a few times for Naz to get a victory.kingfinn wrote:was he though? he was a pressure fighter but nas had monsterous one punch ko power. Re: Prince Naseem
But we'll never know because in the end Naz didn't have the heart for it.
Re: Prince Naseem
Ridiculous...yid14 wrote:and Barrerra was better than him.
As much as i'm a fan of Barrerra he was KTFO and beaten twice by Junior Jones yet no one would say Jones is better then Barrerra nowadays even though in both fights Jones clearly showed he was in a different class.
Re: Prince Naseem
Do you think that the schooling of Naz was just a right place right time for Barrerra, I guess it could be seen as a little lucky. By Ray Charles.exittored wrote:Ridiculous...yid14 wrote:and Barrerra was better than him.
