Re: credit to frank w@rren
Its a good domestic card, a once a month/every 6 weeks type of thing - better than a bog-standard weekly SFN but neither deep, competitive nor superstar-headline-grabbing enough for a PPV.
A couple of recent occurrences lead me to think a PPV will shortly be announced for September 17th. That is the night of the Floyd v Ortiz bill, featuring Crolla v Morales on the undercard, while Europes Greatest Ever Promoter recently announced James DeGale v Wilczewski for the same night. On Ringside this week, Adam Smith flat out asked Nathan Cleverly whether Tony Bellew could be his opponent in his September fight. If Bellew gets rid of McKenzie early and with little damage taken, I can see Clev v Bellew being made to support a night of PPV. Otherwise, I expect to see Clev defending his title in a straightforward defence. Throw in a Frankie Gavin or Billy Joe Saunders UK title shot and that's your £15.

Don't you start! It's why I pay SKY near on £700.00 a year. This should be a regular occurence AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE NON PPV!.Glyn Leach wrote:Exceptional show, really high quality, congrats to all involved

Good card, should be interesting.
Four fights with only two perceived to be 60/40 at best should be the rule rather than the exception though.

To follow on from Ian Mc.
Many thanks to the Shell Petrol station, I put £30.00 in the tank and the gauge reflected this. Respect!

You on the fence when it comes to Bellew-McKenzie?
As for the night itself, it is down to Sky to consistently stump up the dough to deliver bills like this and it is right to state this but the four fights have provoked debate aplenty and their own threads. Casual fans are telling me they're going to tune in and in the main it should be a good advertisement for the sport so I don't see anything wrong with praising the promoter a little bit. Other promoters have been praised recently for their shows, FTM's last one etc so why not.
Re promoters, they get paid money from SKY and its down to the Promoter to Promote and get sponsorship and the full house.
Its a decent show, biut we pay more money to watch domestic fighters than football fans do to watch the best in the world. I know its down to demand, but my demand is value for my money.
Its a good night and if the promoters had any sense they would know that consistent good fights brings the casual fans in and makes them more money in the long run, its better for the sport!

x 2 when they read out the bill i was thinking not another f***ing ppv. then they said it was free on ringside and i still had to double check.rhino222 wrote:guys
i have been a big critic of franks in the past, but this weekend he has delivered a fantastic non ppv boxing extravaganza.

some of the ppv fights this last year have been absolute shite.
well don frank and well done sky.
