That would be a good pairing. Rawling is knowledgable, calm and an intelligent pundit, McGuigan is more excitable, but insightful and brings a good sense of atmosphere to proceedings.

I think that's a bit of a dream team if they get the chemistry right. Bit like the old days of Watt and Gutteridge I think it was.

Well, I thought Barry was with Sky too. And Rawling will have to be poached from the Beeb as well, so it's very much a 'believe it when I see it' moment.

I think it'd be an excellent combination, myself, so I'm hoping it's true.

Give Gary Mason another chance, he was excellent..right up there with Johnny Nelson.

Barry McGuigan loves the sound of his own voice too much and will never agree to anothers opinion if it doesn`t mirror his own

And who`s that fella who works with Watt?, just don`t rate him one bit

Barry is joining itv so is rawling.

They should have barry in his current sky role and duke with Rawling as co commentator.

The music was good.

Hopefully itv2 will show Vincent v Jennings fight.

Presenter - Dickie Davies.
Studio guests - Barry McGuigan and Jim Watt.
Ringside commentators - David Bremmer and Jim Watt. John Rawlings though is very good.

They should draft in Sid Waddell from the Darts

On a Witter point, despite him being described as a "switch hitter" does anyone else think he looks uncomfortable as a southpaw? He looks off balance and easier to hit and i think he only does it to show off rather than out of necessity. I think he always looks more solid when orthodox.

That's good, I like Rawling, he's articulate and really knows the sport, and I think he's forcefull enough in his opinions not to be steamrollered by McGuigan.

Had he done any radio commentary before?

Barry is not good as a commentator, unless he has improved since his probox days (which I think he probably has with experience). Always been excellent as an analysist or doing segments at certain stages of rounds - but never liked him as a colour commentator.

Actually in his probox days he was very unexitable and sometimes hard to hear him (would be very quiet not saying alot). I hope things have changed from then.
