John Mugabi -v- Julian Jackson?

Post by Syntax Error »

Who would have won this battle of the bangers?

It's the ultimate go either way fight!!! :P

Both had frightening power, but couldn't necessarily take it!!!

I'd pick Mugabi to win in about 3, but I can't say with any confidence!!! :box: :box: :box: :box:

I'd agree.

Although I dont think it would go past the 1st.

In their primes, I'd give mUgabi the edge in chin and core strength.

On this basis, Mugabi in 1, in a similar fight to Mugabi - Hargrove.

I have imagined this fight a zillion times. You'd need a best of 5 series... I agree that Mugabi has the edge in strength. Jackson was maybe a litttle quicker with his hands (maybe)...

How about the winner faces Hearns...

Tommy could be in real trouble here.

He avoided Mugabi for years.

Is this a rumour? What are your sources? I think Hearns has trouble with anyone who can hit with power, even when they can't match his ability.

How about Hearns-Benn? Winner fights the winner of Mugabi-Jackson

Either one would be great against Hearns. I couldn't call such a fight with any certainty!!! :D

The sad thing is, the fight could easily have happened.

Both are the same age & size. It's a pity they never fought.

No its not a rumour.

Watch any of the NBC telecasts of Mugabi fights in the early 1980's.

Micky Duff was calling out Hearns all the time and Mugabi was ranked 1.
