Come on be honest, who had Degale, Haye and Murray ?

Post by jessi »

Most people on this forum had Haye a slight favourite all though the bookies dident, but Degale and Murray where strong favourites on here and with the bookmakers, when you think about it though, Haye talked himself into a match he wasent really ready for, Groves v Degale was close but Groves had beaten him once before and probably had the harder run as a pro so we never should off fallen for the hype in the first place, and Mitchell, well firstly who had murray really fought ? (he certainly had never been in with a banger or a great boxer ) and secondly Mitchell said so himself he probably would off been a BIG favourite if he hadent had the katsidis loss 14 months ago !
Degale Haye and Murray still have loads to offer. Out of the 3 id personally pick Degale to still succeed on a world class basis !

You don't think Haye has proved himself world class? Undisputed cruiser champ and WBA heavyweight champ seems pretty good to me.

I had Groves and Wlad.

Based on being more proven.

I picked Murray more because of his opponent than Murray's talent. I thought Mitchell's head had gone, I didn't find his pre-fight words to be very sincere. I felt the court case, the family drama and the Katsidis defeat would all come home to roost.

I was badly wrong. He caused a crack in Murray, whose gameplan was just asking for trouble - and then found the right shots to split that crack wide open and put Murray away.

Murray isn't a joke, and Mitchell knocked him out and thus has the best win of the trio.

Not as a heavyweight no, I don't blame him for taking the fight, there's just 4 or 5 fighters he could of fought before hand to get himself better prepared IMO !

This is exactly the same as me. I had great odds on Groves, not so good on Wlad, but really thought Mitchell was finished with all the out of the ring crap that has been going on in his life. Fair play to him, that was a sensational performance. Spoke really well post fight too. Good on ya fella.

I actually had groves, wlad and Mitchell (check my previous posts if you don't believe me) and the only one I'd change on a rematch would be degale.
