Gallaghers Gym Homeless
Gallaghers Gym Homeless
Heard that Joe Gallagher has been kicked out of Kerry Kayes' gym. Any truth to it?
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
Heard this about 3 weeks ago so if he hasn't yet, probably not.
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
When Mooresy took me round the gyms, we stopped off to see KK (very nice guy).
He told us then he'd already taken the keys off him and gave them to Joe Murray as he didnt want anything to do with Gallagher. He was definitely planning on throwing Gallagher out of the gym but wanted to wait for the big fights to be finished (i presume Macklin and Murray) as it wasn't fair on the lads.
I wouldn't be suprised if this was now true as he was adamant that he'd had enough of Gallagher

I've always found Joe a really nice guy but he seems to piss a lot of people off, I've had one or two fallouts with people mainly from what I've wrote on here- but I never here much from gallagher it's a little weird? Kk seems a nice chap too

Speak as I find, Joe and Kerry are both good guys.
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
Agree seems a strange one but Gallagher does seem to rub people up the wrong way, it's in his name haha!
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
I get the impression that Joe G likes the limelight a bit?
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
I heard the same. Not a good vibe from all the other Manchester gym's towards Joe.dbf wrote:I get the impression that Joe G likes the limelight a bit?
Apparently the whole winning streak for Joe was created by himself and not the media. He was hyping himself.
Again, never met the bloke so he might be alright
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
Yeah - I don't know him so I shouldn't have passed a comment, it was just my impression of him. Could be a great bloke.Josh1111 wrote:I heard the same. Not a good vibe from all the other Manchester gym's towards Joe.dbf wrote:I get the impression that Joe G likes the limelight a bit?

Wonder where he is going to go if he leaves Kerry's place.
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
If he has been booted he's daft for burning bridges as Kerry pays for it all and Joe G doesn't even pay rent i believe?dbf wrote:Yeah - I don't know him so I shouldn't have passed a comment, it was just my impression of him. The smith's are all on Twitter saying they're training today so not sure if they're out yet.

Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
Joe is a good guy, works hard, loves boxing and his fighters and gym has a great family feel. Not too dissimilar to other good gyms.
He is well able to talk and has solid opinions so media types are usually more likely to give him a shout for an opinion because a. they know him and b. he knows how to play the media game and give them something to work with.
That is a little different then "seeking out limelight" - its the fighters that are the stars and that is what he talks about (apart from shoehorning in a Man U reference into every discussion)
Good guy, good trainer - I wish him good luck! Simples.

I don't think there's a lot wrong with that type of self-promotion. If you don't do it, who would? I often hear football managers talk about the kind of run they have been on, and Joe's fighters are his team so I think he's entitled to do the same. I've never met him personally and I have heard this kind of thing before so perhaps I'm naive on the subject, but I agree with Slap's intepretation.Josh1111 wrote:I heard the same. I spoke to some of the lad's who live over there and they told me he's been kicked out of every gym in Manchester so I doubt he'll be welcome back any time soon.Josh1111 wrote:I heard the same. I'd presumed/thought been told but may I've dreamt it, this was due to someone making a comeback, not Joe and KK falling out.

did you join for the sole purpose of having a pop at gallagher or was there another reason?Big-Beryl wrote:I spoke to some of the lad's who live over there and they told me he's been kicked out of every gym in Manchester so I doubt he'll be welcome back any time soon.Josh1111 wrote:I heard the same. its not like there is a shortage of gym/mill space in east Manchester. I've a feeling he will be alright.
Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
KK took the keys of Joe G a while back mate as they had a falling out, Joe Murray has been opening and closing according to KKPoncey wrote:X2Glyn Leach wrote:Speak as I find, Joe and Kerry are both good guys.

Re: Gallaghers Gym Homeless
KK's gym has every bit of kit worth having, not to mention the infinite nutritional advice that Kerry gives out for free.

I don't know Joe so can't comment on him but I do know Kerry and he is one of the nicest guys in any sport so I imagine it must be a major thing for Kerry to do that.

I got exactly the same impression when I met KK as well. Top guy and only had the boxers interests in his mind as well so didn't let the fued ruin upcoming fights for the lads.warmachine wrote:I don't know Joe so can't comment on him but I do know Kerry and he is one of the nicest guys in any sport so I imagine it must be a major thing for Kerry to do that.

Both top blokes. Joe's always been happy to have a chat with me and is a decent guy. Only met Kerry once but he got his wife to make me a cuppa and was sound. Sometimes these relationships just run their course.

Why would I want to just have a pop at Gallagher? I'm simply relaying info that I've received>slapbangwhallop wrote:did you join for the sole purpose of having a pop at gallagher or was there another reason?Big-Beryl wrote:I spoke to some of the lad's who live over there and they told me he's been kicked out of every gym in Manchester so I doubt he'll be welcome back any time soon.Josh1111 wrote: I heard the same.
