Er no he is not. It is Carl Froch in my opinion and it is quite simple really. Froch unified the British and Commonwealth Super Middleweight titles winning the Lonsdale Belt outright which Amir Khan did not do down in his division. Only winning the Commonwealth Lightweight title and some Intercontiential/International belts enroute to his WBA Light-Welterweight title against Andrey Koltentik. Plus he has fought an utter murderer's row of fighters in Jean Pascal who later became the WBC Light-Heavyweight world champion, Jermain Taylor the former undisputed World Middleweight Champion and stopped him with one of the most dramatic stoppages you will ever see.

Andre Dirrell who is top 10 ranked who quite frankly made Froch look awful, but got the result regardless. Lost to Mikkel Kessler a former WBA World Champion in a tight thrilling fight which was a fight of the year candidate. Wins the title back after Kessler's withdrawal with an eye injury in a dominating performance against Arthur Abraham, defeats Glencoffe Johnson a former Light Heavyweight world champion to secure his place in the Super Six final against Andre Ward.

Plus earlier in his career during his reign as British Champion defeated Robin Reid a former World Champion. And that is why I back Carl Froch in this debate.

I think he needs to shut up about being the best. Most people will say Froch is streets ahead at the moment as he has proved more and his quality of opponents are much better. I still like the guy, but he has been saying this for a while now and putting himself ahread of Froch without going out and proving it. this fight if he wins will put him closer, but still behind in my opinion.

Gomez can fornicate OFF. He should be banned from any Khan threads after his 'i didn't like the look of him the moment i saw him' comment so anything he has to say on Khan is silly racist nonsense.

As for these comments by Khan they are a bit silly and he should keep his mouth shut sometimes especially till he beats Judah and Bradley although he's still a pretty young man and just trying to sell more PPV's so understandable and we shouldn't hold someone to every word when they're just in sales mode i.e Haye.

From a purely talent and skill level he probably is the best P4P best boxer from Gt Britain, as much as i admire Froch i think he's been lucky not to have faced more Andre Dirrel type slick boxers who have skill and speed to make him look pretty basic although he is superb against other agressive boxers like Pascal, Kessler, Abraham and Johnson.

I disagree, exit, whether or not gomez has issues with Khan (to which i was jokingly referring) that makes no difference to me, Froch's resume is well ahead for my money.

Compare both fighters losses

Froch loses a tight decision in Kessler's living room.

Khan is obliterated in less than a minute by an unknown Columbian in his own living room.

Froch has worked tirelessly for his current status as world champion, I give Khan credit for rebuilding his career but it must be agreed that FW done a magnificent job in delivering a washed up Mexican and a very ordinary world champion. Froch was not affored these lucrative shortcuts.

Not sure who I rank higher but I don't read much into that comparison.

I agree that as of now Froch is ahead in terms of actual accomplishments but that could all change by the end of the year if Khan beats Judah and Bradley whilst Froch loses to Ward.

It's a pretty silly comment from Khan, no doubt about that but as i've mentioned before he is trying to sell PPV's and in sales mode so what a boxer says to hype a fight should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Surely the losses on a fighters recored must be a significant when discussing the value of two boxers?

Froch squeaks it for now, but Khan will be from 2012-15 onward, and people should get behind him

Indeed, but not every fighter's career can follow exactly the same path. Some fighters lose and become better fighters as a result of it. One fighter suffering a loss early in their career doesn't automatically make them inferior to another who didn't lose until much later in theirs.

How do you work that out then? Froch got beat by Dirrel(unless you count punches that hit thin air as scoring punches) and by Kessler(close fight but he did lose it). After he loses to Ward he'll retire wheras if Khan beats Judah and Bradley he's basically on the road to being a superstar especially if he fights Mayweather next year and he's one of the few boxers out there with the skills and speed to actually beat Floyd especially as he'll be 35 years old by then.

I think that at the moment Froch is fighting at a higher level, but if Khan can correct some of his errors he will be a more capable fighter than Froch. So I'd say Khan is more talented, but he hasn't made the most of that yet, whereas Froch has. They are at different stages of their careers.

Well i'm not debating who would win between Hatton or Khan, i was talking more about that Amir has the perfect style to beat Mayweather especially in a year or so and i've believed that for a couple of years now. That dosen't mean that he'd beat everyone at 147 lbs though but he'd actually do much better with the slicker boxers then say Froch would do with them.

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned that Ali Shah has the talent to beat Khan and will be better then him if given the chance!

Lets not go over the top now...infact i wouldn't be surprised if Ortiz beats him in september if he brings the same intensity he brought against Berto. A fighter like Mayweather who uses his speed and reactions to win fights will go into steady decline from around his current age, it's just up to other fighters to take advantage of that decline. I know he made the Mosley and Marquez fights look easy but he hasn't really been out of 3rd gear since Hatton in 2007 so will be interesting to see what happens if he's forced to really dig deep again especially due to his recent in-activity and age.

Complete pish from Khan but he's always chatting shite. He needs to make sure he beats the clearly past his best Judah and unifies the division before claiming to be the best in Britain.

Khans best wins - Kotelnik - solid boxer who gets underated by many as a weak champ holds a win over Maidana and Alexander in most peoples eyes........Malignaggi- the guy has his faults but he only loses to top notch guys, a powder puff Katsidis almost..........-Maidana- a dangerous puncher respected by all.........Mcloskey- unbeaten euro champ, yet to see how good this win really is but I find it solid enough........if he beats Judah that's a pretty damn good resume in my eyes.
Froch's best wins- Pascal, Taylor, Dirrel, Abraham, Johnson and possibly soon to be Ward......... Froch's resume is clearly ahead at the moment but a khan win and froch loss makes there respective resumes a lot closer than some seem to think, I'm just happy to have 2 such guys at such a very good level and ready to take on tough albeit slightly different challenges.

i don't think khan will beat mayweather even if it was in 5 years time regardless mayweather has preserved himself well and hasnt had war story's like khan and Ali shah isn't on that level to even mention if he thinks he is capable of beating them guys with his talent then thats the mentality every fighter should have and theres nothing wrong with that he can concentrate on the level he is at and thats domestic level not world... so if he does reach that level ever in his career than thats great if not then ok only time will tell..
