Who is going to Froch v Ward?
Who is going to Froch v Ward?
Apologies if this has already been done but I haven't seen it. Just wondering who, if anyone, is making plans to go over for this fight. I'm fairly sure I will be going.
A couple of questions - in terms of numbers, what sort of following has Carl taken abroad in his previous fights? And does Ward have a good following State side? I know that some US stars struggle to sell tickets in their own town.

I went Helsinki and there were probably 100-ish British fans dotted about the place at the most. Not sure how many were at Johnson fight, didn't look loads on tv.

I think the problem in the past has beeen numerous changes, delays and lack of info.... I'm sure the amount of people that made it to Herning for Kessler for example was a small percentage of the amount that were planning to go to Copenhagen before the changes....TheCobra wrote:I will be almost certainly going Froch fight and know a couple of others who are keen.jonlcfc1 wrote:Apologies if this has already been done but I haven't seen it. Tempted but couldn't find a flight to Atlantic City when I looked last night. Anyone booked a flight into NYC and going by train?

We're getting the Greyhound LuckyStreak Bus there from NYC $35 return and you get $25 free slot play at the casino you arrive at.... More or less the same time as well and Buses 24/7Scottrf wrote:Tempted but couldn't find a flight to Atlantic City when I looked last night. Anyone booked a flight into NYC and going by train?
Theres also the ACEs train that runs Fri-Sun (although you risk missing the weigh in judging by the train schedules)
Also, if you ring Eddie Hearns travel contact (tel no on his twitter) He's doing the flights at sale prices for a few days still.

I`m still undecided on this one.
I have a German beer festival double header in Stuttgat and then Munich the following week in late sept/ealy Oct.
Be a bit of hassle trying to plot in a 5 day trip to the states in October. There is no way I would bring the missus, so I would need to find a mate to come with me.
Looks like I`m 60/40 against at the moment.

I don't know how big Ward's following is but all his recent fights have been in California, and the majority actually in his home town of Oakland whereas this one is on the opposite side of America, so it will be a trip for his fans too. I believe it was originally going to be in Las Vegas which would have made more sense financially but I dont think they could get the venue they wanted on the date they had already pencilled in.jonlcfc1 wrote: does Ward have a good following State side? I'm in exactly the same boat, but without the beer festival.forcefraser wrote:I`m still undecided on this one.

I went to Taylor and Kessler which were superb trips, but AC in late October is not a combination to excite me at all I'm afraid
