Actually, I think that if Prescott can land clean, he could this fight...
Does McCloskey believe he can win this? I'm not even sure... To me this smells like a "cashing in" job.

McCloskey did absolute zip in 6rds versus Khan to be mentioned as a Top 10 Light welterweight and the cut saved him the embarrassment of losing every round in a UD decision. It's a joke that him and his team were saying their gameplan was to catch Khan late when he got tired especially as Amir's one great strength is his stamina and endurance in fights.

Although Bredis isn't Top 5 world class and is fairly limited he still has too much for someone who is merely above average and a spoiler like McClosky so Prescott wins this pretty comfortably for me around 8rds to 4, having said that Paul may get the nod in a controversial decision seeing as it's in Ireland.

Just to add, Bredis is a bit better then some people seem to think and is more then just a power puncher, he does have a decent jab, speed and good footwork but is just a bit too wild with his punches and telegraphs them too much. His 2 losses to Miguel Vazquez(now a world champion) and Kevin Mitchell don't seem so bad now either especially as he performed pretty well in both.

Our difference of opinion on Dudeys career will forever be intact if you think this is a "cashing in" fight. Prescott really isn't that special and McCloskey has the perfect style to beat him.

Mate, Prescott is a decent fighter (I'm not pretending he's a knockout artist or anything) but it seems an odd fight for McCloskey to take considering that Prescott has been fighting up at Welterweight.

Why didn't McCloskey go for Mabuza or Holt or better yet a fight against Kotelnik (that would let the division know that Paul means business, because it seems only elite fighters beat Kotelnik).

I've read in BN this is a final elliminator to face khan thats why he's taken the fight. i want bredis to win in hopes of a repeat but i think mcClosky will

Yeah, but the winner of the fight will be hunting for Amir Kahn, that's for sure.

Assuming Khan gets past Judah on Saturday he will be placed by many as #1 in the division, and certainly the biggest money-spinner in the division. Of course they will be hunting him for their next payday.
