Taz: When you were fighting pro, did you ever fight on a card that had a battle royal? I remember that they were popular in the Maritimes even up until the early 70's. Could you imagine anything like that taking place now?

Taz: Some of my current favorites are: Barrera, Ricardo Lopez and Holyfield. Ward and Gatti are true warriors.
One of my past favorites from Canada was Art Hafey-people don't talk about him much anymore, but he was something to see even when he lost.

Taz: Did you ever know a man named Fred Bishop? He used to cover boxing in Nova Scotia for The Ring magazine. You said that you gave up 20 pounds in a couple of fights. What do you think about Roy Jones trying to fight John Ruiz who is a little over 230 pounds?

Taz: As far as Roy Jones is concerned, it seems that people are really split down the middle about him, either he is great or he is overrated. As a former pro, what are your specific criticisms of Jones? No doubt, he does have extremely fast hands.

Taz: Do you think that Art Hafey and Larry Hafey would have a chance of being inductred into the Nova Scotia Sports Hall Of Fame if they were nominated? I have been in contact with the Hall, and was told that if I submit their names for induction, then they would be considered.

Taz: It is often said that punchers are born and not made-would you agree with this statement?
Earlier, you mentioned that if you were fighting today, you would lift light weights. Can weights improve punching power or do they simply improve conditioning?

Taz: I am wondering if you know why Larry Haffey did not relocate to the United States back when his brother Art did? By the way, the Hall of Fame in Nova Scotia has its induction ceremony next month and I am hoping to be able to nominate the Hafeys in time.
Thanks for all your answers-you're a great source of knowledge and experience and I really appreciate your corresponding with me.
